Placing hands on bad during elbows can be beneficial if your practicing moving your opponents hands put the way for a 12-6. When boxing should I set this up with a false jab? If that makes any sense.

Also, just going to boxing gym, doing pad/bag work and eventually sparring will help correct your bad habits. Most mistakes you'll make are the same ones most beginners make. If it's a good gym, they should either notice and put you right or help if you ask for it.
@basteagui
@basteagui 2 жыл бұрын
the thing that did it for me is to realize you are in MORE danger if you have your eyes closed. then you watch out for it. there is also a tendency for new boxers to TURN their head around. even when 'pawing' a hand forward. terrible beginner mistakes, but you see them all the time. what will fix them is to realize why you are doing what you are doing and training in front of a mirror and then trying out in sparring. those flinch reactions can really betray you and they are like the normal reaction from a human. that's why there's such a big margin between trained and untrained in my opinion
@aldomonti7045
@aldomonti7045 2 жыл бұрын
the thing that worked for me was that i made myself want to see what the guy looked like when he threw the punch. i’d want to see his face full of anger and wanting to hurt, and i knew it would then make me mad and i’d have the same aggressive energy. sparring shouldnt be this aggressive all the time, i had quite an aggressive sparring partner so this is how i learnt, the coach was a dumbass for not telling him to tone down, but that method worked a charm for keeping my eyes open. and naturally you’ll be able to see the punches coming, when they’re moving in and out or around you. worst thing ever is having your eyes shut so you don’t see them move around you and set a solid body shot😂

This is quickly becoming my favorite martial arts KZbin channel. It’s weird because I didn’t think that it was possible to have a good martial arts-based channel where you talk about technique because martial arts theory doesn’t give you skill. A lot of these videos and even TV shows for example human weapon give people a false sense of confidence that they can handle themselves instead of inspire them to want to get an instructor. Something about this is just different though. I don’t want to be one of those over praising kind of people but I feel like people are learning from these videos but also not getting over cocky. I have been wanting to get back into a martial art for a long time now. Considering boxing.

I've been practicing it a lot and if you line it up just right you can transfer some serious power. The problem is that you CANNOT telegraph that punch at all or you're going to get KOd. Which is why I've also been incorporating fencing footwork into my gazelle punch. That way my arm is literally a spear.

The only thing you get from getting punched in the face is getting punched in the face. There's literally no benefits to getting punched in the face/head. It'd be understandable if it were body shots, because you need to actually condition your body to take punches; but to the head? You might as well fight for real if you're going to get punched that many times in such a short amount of time.

Hi mate, I bought myself a century bob during lockdown been using your videos to get a basic technical which I think is OK but not great. Went to my local boxing gym for the first time today. I really struggled on the pads the guy holding the pads said don't stress it's your first time but felt really embarrassed. Any tips??

Be consistent in boxing gym, learn from boxing coach on how to punch and don’t be like those wannabe boxers in TikTok

@@Jeffro5564 been speaking to a few people about it. Apparently it takes a while but I reckon all the green I smoked in the past as ruined my short term memory especially when I put pressure on myself

I don't know much about boxing, but, do it everyday, if you got the opportunity, train a bit everyday, so you'll improve more, slowly but you will, everyone takes time to learn, like in school and other things and life as well, everything takes it's time, you just have to check your errors, train, improve, check your errors, train, improve, and again, and again, and again until you master your skills

I think even Marciano had his feet of the ground when he did his gazelle left hook. So yeah, when u are really giod u can break the rules I guess. He for sure still had power.

The crossing of the legs is effective in boxing because my step brother use it quite a lot for diagonal punches and still lands punches with it

7:20 So basically, the cheap reflex bags on amazon are awful and fall apart, and can also have protruding plastic pieces that make using it painful. Not the first time I've seen one of them absolutely covered in tape

Sir I texted you on your number, but you didn't reply, maybe you were busy. So I'm writing it here When I put my hand wrappings and starts punching, it feels like my skin is peeling. When I revome them, I could see the skin near my knuckles are torned. Is it because of my boxing hand wraps that I am using? because it is actually very rough clothing.

3:58 I agree to an extent, what he is doing in the video is bad, but you can train long guard framing, and handtrapping for elbows on the bag, it just looks nothing like that.

About the second guy jumping while punching: of course you are right, that this technique is suboptimal. But it is worthwhile practising how to punch while you are imbalanced, i.e. with one foot in the air. Because you have to hit your opponent whenever he presents you with a target and than it must not play a role in what position you find yourself in. That is what my Karate master says.
