What people need to realise too is that she's not beating cannon fodder here. The top 7 times in this race are all TOP level world class swims. Women's distance freestyle is actually quite deep at present, even without Ledecky this was a SCORCHING race, remember other than Ledecky, even including super suit swims barely a dozen or more girls have ever broken 8:20. So the fact she is dismantling such class athletes is even more impressive than it looks.

What is your opinion of her technique as compared to Ian Thorpe? I personally find both of them "beautiful swimmers", but will give Ian a slight edge. Just a personal opinion though !!

Jess+ Not even close to 100 meters! Plus, if Ledecky were male, her 1500 would be around 14:06.5!!! And If she were to swim the 400 as a male, guess what! 3:31.4!!!

I'd be interested to see if she is actually "super human" lol I'd bet she builds up less lactic acid than the average person allowing her to maintain a harder energy output without muscle fatigue ... Mark spitz was famous for it i would think ledecky is the same
