Imagine winning TWO gold medals (team and duet) with your twin sister ❤. This was their 5th routine at the Olympics (3 for team, 2 for duet). The silver and bronze medalists did not compete in team events, so only had to prepare 2 routines.
@petesmart19832 ай бұрын
The Dutch team who got bronze were twins too. The silver team from Britain also had zero funding and work normal jobs so don't put them down so easily there not getting paid thousands and best training like the Chinese pair, they did there training in a public swimming pools while working full-time jobs 🤔

I’m surprised the commentator didn’t praise their amazing lack of splash during their execution or how amazingly in sync they were. The only thing she pointed out was a timing error late in the routine. Anyways…amazing job ladies. Amazing! As a fellow BRICS lady, I am so proud of you
@SuhandiWijaya2 ай бұрын
Of course there is a little bias, but that doesn't stop China to win the most gold medals along with the purple race alien country 😈

Let us BRICS rise!
@TCherie12 ай бұрын
I was asking about this a few years ago to teammates who ended up continuing to compete in past Olympics. When we were training it was all about "no splash" and when I started following again a few years ago after a 20 year break, I asked them exactly why everything now was so "splashy". Also she comments on the change of music pace which was routine in the past to not have just a straight set of the same melody and something I miss having the routines show off not only strength, but beauty and grace that is the core or synchronized swimming.
@xyz757218 күн бұрын
Do people in the BRICS countries feel they are connected? Sorry if this is a stupid comment, I learnt about BRICS only a few months ago
@kaddieA16 күн бұрын
@@xyz7572 I think we’re starting to feel that way. We’re finding that we have a shared history of being used for our resources, belittled for our talents, and a lack of respect for being able to determine our destinies free from foreign interference. The situation in Palestine vs how Ukraine has been handled has just made it clearer that BRICS nations will never be treated the same under the current system

@Shibbyz2 ай бұрын
They would be ashamed if they learned that someone said their synchronicity was "almost" perfect hahaha China is the country who puts the most effort in synchronisation. They are the only country who synchronises every movement, even the ones that don't have to be. For exemple, the egg beater, which is what the legs are doing when your body is straight out of the water with the arms ding the choreography. Because everyone are not the same body composition and the same efficiency, it is normal that we all do the egg beater at a different pace if we want to have the same amount of our body outside of the water or moving at the same pace, which are the things artistic swimmers are judged on. I was an artistic swimmer for 8 years and a coach for 25 years. My opinion on this is that it shouldn't be a focus at all for athletes who are not at that level because they are not judge at all on this and they have to put soooooooo many time training on this while there are soooooo many other things to train that are actually judged on. (I know that in China the athletes have to work on that starting at very low levels...) But, for duets, , if they have a body composition that is very similar (which is pretty much every duet... and those girls are twins, as 2 other duets in the top 4!), I think that other countries would benefit of working on having those movements more synchronized. Especially in transitions.... For exemple, if they travel in egg beater, then lay on their side and travel in flutter kicks, then on their back and close their legs together at the surface and do a ballet leg (and now it's the arms who are doing sculling, which is a movement that doesn't have to be synchronized). They could synchronize the 4 lasts egg beater, 4 lasts flutter kicks sideway and backward and the 4 firsts sculling. For those who got this far in my comment, try to notice those little movement and you will see the difference between the duets who do and those who don't. They are not loosing points for this but it still makes a difference in the overall synchronicity.
