I suppose you cannot really say "synchronised" if there's only one performer since synchronised swimming is about synchronised choreography accompanied by music. That's why I love that the term has now been changed to artistic swimming, which may pave the way to the return of solo artistic swimming.

I didn't know there were Demonstration sports in the Olympics. Saldy in the US, with NBC having a stranglehold on the Olympic footage I almost exclusively see diving, swimming, ski events, and running. Of course there is a smattering of other events that I catch here and there, but never the things I want to see. The Olympics are a world wide event and should be freely viewable for streaming online instead of being locked behind a corporate pay wall. There's a huge disconnect between society at large and the Olympics at this point. I'm the only person I know that even tries to watch them anymore. Having grown up watching them in the 80's it was such a big thing, so there's some nostalgia there for me. I'd love to be able to pull up an Olympics app and watch, in real time or later on, any event I wanted to. I've always wanted to see Fencing and some of the Martial Arts, but I never have.

Fencing is amazing ,,we used to see it here before Bein controls the sports media too ,, and it is in Pentathlon as well and the martial arts we used to see a lot of them as we like it here and grab many medals in it ,I am from Egypt

One can see it’s always a matter of common consensus. Why should anyone consider let’s say lacrosse or pelota to be more ridiculous and more childish nonsense than golf, ice hockey or tennis? Why is tug of war or rope climbing being perceived as more silly than triple jump, race walking or table tennis?

Everyone who has followed the games knows Tug-of-war was once included. You know which one was hard to believe, motor vehicle racing. It was a demonstration sport at the Paris 1924 games.

I'm glad we've removed most sports that involved animals. But I'm surprised we don't have Lacross. Tug of war and rope climb feel like very possible sports, but i understand it's hard to be a "professional" and live as an athlete in such sport.

Until the last fifteen years or so, lacrosse practically did not exist outside of the US, Canada, Australia, and UK. No one else in the world was playing it until quite recently.
