The US should have played against Yugoslavia in 1992 but it broke apart. Croatian players only represented a small part of the former Yugoslavia team. You played against Serbia and Montenegro (which was called Yugoslavia, but in reality that was just Serbia and Montenegro) in 1996 and it was still a close game on halftime. You would had had a legitimate chance of losing the 1992 finals had the Yugoslavia broken apart just one year later than it did.

We all know Magic by then was the most accomplished on the team with 5 rings, Bird was a first-ballot HOF'er and probably about to retire as the greatest SF, Michael Jordan was the NBA's best player but I was most impressed by the growth of Scottie Pippen. He was really the glue on this team the same as he was during the Bulls' 6 title run. He was the perfect specimen to play basketball...6'8, 7'3 inch wingspan, lean and trim, could run like a deer, handle the ball and make plays like a PG, was probably the second-best finisher in the game. He was just a marvel to watch. He definitely revolutionized the SF position as a point-forward and set the stage for other SF's like Grant Hill, T-Mac, LeBron, and others even Luka Doncic today is an SF playing PG. That's Scottie but none of them could lockdown on the defensive end. Scottie is arguably the greatest two-way SF of all-time and the best overall.

I think Pippen is underrated. A guy that puts up 23/8/7 and can lock down the other team's best scorer and defend literally anyone...he used to get switched the the other team's centers on back picks and block their shots...obviously Jordan was a great player but Pippen was every bit as important to the Bulls titles and people give too much credit to scoring & don't appreciate defense and other aspects enough...a great player, one of my favorites ever.

And his wife was in labour. War in your country. He was much better, and Croatia all together in finals. And now we all now why, because of Jerry Crause and his Europan love. That love brought them new three-peat and Scottie was his new mentor when he finnaly came in Chicago. Jordan was out playing baseball. Short 45 days. - - Because of Jerry, we hated Tony. Not just Michael and I, the whole team looked at that kid and thought he would never come to the NBA after this. It didn't have anything to do with Tony personally, but we wanted Jerry to look bad - Pippen said, who said at the time that Tony had nothing to look for in the NBA. And he was better paid when he came in then Scottie. He wasn't starter, but everybody knows that best five in team is always with his name and number.

They're a pretty big team. A 7'2" centre and two other 7 footers and two 6'11" forwards one of whom was Toni Kukoc. They played zone defense too pretty much the only way other teams can beat them was perimeter shooting. But on the other hand, the Dream Team seems blase about it. I mean they let Pippen play point guard at some point when Magic got a cramp. The only other team that comes close was the Lithuanian team with Sabonis in the centre slot.
