What makes me sad, specially now that she is taking a break from skating and perhaps never coming back again, is that during the time she was skating and winning it all, she was not rightfully celebrated as the wonderful, talented athlete that she is. And she also didn't receive enough recognition for her achievements, compared to the reception that, for example Kostornaja is getting nowadays (what she also definitely deserves!). Instead Alina got a lot of hate, because Medvedeva and all the drama around her. I think it wasn't fair for Alina to receive that treatment. I love her, I think she is something special and I wish her all the best for her future!

People need to understand that this is actually a fact, the best short program in the modern skate, not only because it holds the record or because the amazing Alina skating abilities but the program it self that reinterpretation of a white becoming the black swan, it had to be precise and magnificent portrayed by a capable skater that captures the young the innocence the intern and self fight and the transformation and of course good musicality without blend it to the dramatic side but the magnificent one, only Alina could give ot justice. So is pretty accurate consider this, one of the best program a short program performance ever

@@tatianelois6450 the short world record is currently held by Valieva. Talking about Alina’s short program, honestly it’s mostly a matter of opinion. As an exemple, Kamila and Anna’s SP are amazing, full of emotions and technique. I prefer them over Alina’s. This may be your favourite SP, but set aside the technical value, artistry’s appreciation is proper to each of us (music, dress, expression etc…) For me I prefer Anna. She skated two perfect programs beautifully, with a lot of highly technical elements.

@@bluedasher74 quads are not allowed for ladies in short programmes, only in free skate. But even still, the answer to your question is NO, many skaters have broken Zagitova's record since then, the current record holder in women's SP is Kamila Valieva's "in Memoriam" with 90.46 points.

@@rubydacherryiscute She's also breaking the line, her leg during the illusion spin was badly bent. She is not holding out her moves but running through them. You clearly find her wonderful and of course her technique is strong. But for me her movement doesn't do anything for me. She has good technique & strong elements which is why she's Olympic champion. But this is not the best version of the Black Swan I've ever watched. This young woman is at the top of her sport and she is a champion. But personally, for me I don't prefer this program. It doesn't connect with me or my heart. It doesn't draw me into the program.

She is honestly the most beautiful skater I have ever seen. The way she points her toes and extends her legs make her seem like the most elegant and stunning ballet dancer. Her legs seem like they are 10 kilometers long. Everything is so beautiful and lean and fluid. A true once in a lifetime gifted girl!

Perfection. She has such a mature understanding of music. When the music gets chaotic and fast she perfectly reflected this in her step sequence. Even the last spin right at the end the rotations during the I-Spin are perfeclty timed to the last echoing of the music. Seriously one of the best SPs ever created.

Her Me Voy program was a stunner too, more mature and less frantic, it’s a pity that her mental and physical state declined throughout the season. Everytime she Move there's a swag on it. Not like other's who Lack of Emotions or No impact every Performance. Alina's more Relaxed than Pressure here. She enjoyed her Performance.
