Hitting them allows you to get closer and maintain a straighter line. It is much, much faster.

Okay. But u have to give them a break. This sport is really hard. Coming from somebody who does this sport, when the course is bad, you are going to ski bad.

@@Snowydays1978 When I did slalom it felt like a game of favorites. All the sporty kids who were really invested got to go first and have amazing times on the fresh course, tho my coach put me at the back of the lineup because I was really good at not being thrown off the trashed icy course to score consistent points for my team. When I finally got to compete at the front of the lineup on the fresh course I did just as well. So what really separates people from the average athlete and the people who go on to get sponsored? All of my times made me look like a bad racer because I was still resilient at the end, there were days when the 4 "fastest" racers on my team and most other teams got disqualified because the weather was just terrible that day, everyone was pissed because I did fine like always lmfao.
