Actually air guns are underrated AF in real life, apparently back during the 1600s-1800s they saw frequent military use because they were 100$ silent, didn't leave a smoke trail unlike muskets, and were more accurate. During the Napoleon wars Napoleon hated to fight against air gun troops, as they were hard to locate over large distances. It even got to point they would destroy them simply for being dishonorable, the real reason they didn't see widespread use is the craftsmanship. Mass production really didn't exist yet and it required a high quality air tank that could fit within the stock. On top of that it required a pump to fill the air tank, and these were the bottleneck. Some collectors that still fire them, use standard bicycle pumps as the classic pumps are too dangerous to use. Although the real reason you don't see many air guns in the modern era, is purely because of the popularity of normal guns. Even in countries with extreme gun laws BB guns are usually given the same treatment as bullets, so not even a use case in countries like that.
@noah482210 ай бұрын
@@Logan-zp8bi in america we have air guns that shoot .357 sized slugs and have roughly the same FPS as real bullets. they are used in deer hunting. also they dont have the same restrictions, people restricted from owning real guns (felons, specific criminals) can have them.. the high pressure SCUBA tank style air compressors to fill them up are expensive tho, the guns themselves arn't cheap either, about the same price as a real gun, ontop of the expensive high pressure compessor to fill them up.

Since I just finished this mod, I feel the need to review it for all who can see this. Tl;Dr 7.5/10 if you like fallout 2 you will adore this. If you are new or dislike fallout 2 you may feel a bit overwhelmed. First and foremost. This game is very difficult in the best way. It's not unfair with it's difficulty, but you will feel the burn. The skills are a bit of a crapshoot. I took Casanova as a perk. I never used it even though I leveled it to 100 plus. You WILL need lockpick to finish this game. Don't think you can skate by without it. All the battle skills are equally weighted. You can find all manners of throwing weapons, small/ big guns, melee too. The quests are a bit... difficult to parse sometimes. You need to pay attention due to the fact that major details will be lost and you won't see them again by asking for a recap. There are 3 companions I found. They are useless. Use them to carry shit or leave them. I pity the player who has low strength. You need to carry 2 or 3 suits of armor to play late game. The story/writing is well done, albeit you will notice a grammar situation occasionally. Like I mentioned earlier, you need to pay attention when taking quests. It's not a bad thing for this to happen, but alot of new players hate Morrowind for the same reason they would not like this mod. Bugs. There are some, but I didn't encounter many. Some missions break, some dialogue breaks. All you can do is message the dev on discord and inform him for their next patch. I'm not great at English, nor writing reviews, but this is my attempt.

I'm at the point where you have to run into the tunnels with the feral gouls and have since learned. No, not all the battle skills were weighted equally. The mod appears to be made by russians and as any fellow lad who is proficient in both Russian AND English can tell that many mods do not breach the cybernetic-Iron curtain between the two sides. I have seen dozens of good stalker mods like "Taynie tropi, hardwarmod" stuff that are simply abscent and unheard in the western stalker modding and vise versa (dozens of incredible skyrim mods are obscure in the vodkaland). And the fact that many mods are google translated doesn't help much.

Thanks for doing this spotlight. If people are looking for a good, full-size F2 total conversion, then Fallout 1.5: Ressurection is plain great. Until sensible translation of Olympus appears it's a great choice.

As lazy a reason as it is, I suspect a big reason for the lack of attention is possibly the lack of international translations. Wading into a game entirely in Russian when you don't read Russian is going to be a little daunting, for some. I do remember hearing of a potential English translation, once, but that seems to have not materialised. Also, the 'subtle' shade to elitist gremlin hives online while eating soy was appreciated.
@mrcrecer13123 жыл бұрын
Imagine our childhood. Foreign games were in English, and if there was a translation into Russian in the game, it was done through the terrible Promt program, so either try to go through the game intuitively or try to learn what certain words mean and somehow interpret the meaning of phrases from these words.

Having been a fan of yours since your second video went up I am appalled that you are under one million subscribers. You cover some of the most interesting games and conversions and have introduced me to one of my more recent all time favorites, Kenshi, and your coverage of Tamriel Rebuilt is what convinced me to finally give it a go, and it's become a staple of my Morrowind loadout ever since. Great humor, in depth and interesting coverage, awesome perspective from a part of the world that I as an American don't often get to experience, and a fun story all in the same video, what more can you ask for!

I know you're never going to get rich making videos in this format but they're so refreshing! I love how more emphasise is placed on the mod itself and the craftmanship that went into it, rather than a high pitched seizure inducing let's play... I'm working though your back catalogue and loving it. Keep up the good work!

I've always been a big classic fallout fan and during last months I started seeing those Olympus videos late at night but they were all in russian while all the threads on NMA and other fallout-related forums were outdated or dead. It's really nice to actually get a proper exposition through native speaker - you have a great, or rather great lack of heavy accent for an ESL. Cheers from Poland from one fan of Fallout to another:P

I always find it ammusing how Fallout 4 assets clash when placed in the old games but Fallout 3 assets fit in perfectly with only minor touch-ups. He didn't even realize that most of the high quality sprites are just models from Fallout 3.

Not sure if you picked this up but the nWo sign's texture was mapped directly from a professional wrestling group that had something to do with Hulk Hogan. I bet there's probably some interesting dialogue or scripted event that happens in the arena.

My dude, I am not sure how i managed to miss this video of yours (ironic given the context of how few, though I hope that has changed since this video came out, people had seen/heard about this game), but it's stuff like this (a passion project, use of the classic Fallout engine, mods and so on) that makes your channel one of the best that I have stumbled upon in the last few years. Seriously, your gaming interests allign with my own, we both have very dry senses of humour and the fact that you were writing for NMA during the same time that I was active on the site almost makes it all feel like it was predestined. All i can say is thank you, I no longer have the time to seek out these sorts of insane projects anymore so to have someone who's tastes are seemingly so in alignment with my own not only doing so, but creating excellently written and very funny long format videos showcasing their splendors is beyond fantastic. Honestly I am so very grateful, and while I am currently entirely unable to support you in a financial sense (let's just say that you don't become a carer for a family member for the monetary rewards) I give you my word that when I am able to do so, I will eagerly. Now I am going to scrawl through all of your uploads to make certain that there's no other amazing projects or mods that I am entirely unaware of, I wish you absolutely nothing but the best mate.

Хорошее видео! I love the Fallout series, and is always fun to see giant mods like this, even for the older games. Thank you for sharing this! Я учу русский, а ещё знаю очень мало. Это трудно, зато я люблю это. It was fun trying to pick out words from the menus and dialogue from the video, but I couldn't understand much, although I did learn some new words by putting them into an online dictionary. I'll have to wait for the translation to be finished before I can play, but it will be fun to go back and try to play with the game's original language when I learn enough. Again: Благодарю вас! You taught me about a new mod that I look forward to playing, and I also used your video to learn some new Russian vocabulary! Also, apologies if my Russian is poor; I still only know some of the basics and not many words at the moment.
