Olympus 40 150mm F2 8 Pro Lens Review

I’m very much enjoying your frank and honest reviews. I’m a newly convert to the M43 System and bought my first little em 5 mark 1 last weekend second hand with a battery grip and kit lens for a remarkable price. I made the purchase because i wanted a second camera to keep with me at all times and to take on holiday but have fallen in love it, so much so, that I now want to invest in some pro glass, which is how I found your channel looking for reviews on the 12-40 2.8 I still love my Nikon DSLR but it’s hard not to fall in love with this little thing and the images it produces. I just cant understand why peoples (like you) doesnt like this lens hood? Works fine and is very easy and fast to use, much better than normal type.

How do you set the L-Fn button to Magnification? I believe that pressing the button means that the Focus is held at that point when pressed?

10:23 Sorry no your wrong the lens is still a 40-150mm you can not magically gain more magnification. What you are talking about is the angle of view you apply the crop factor to get the equivalent angle of view which is 80-300mm on full-frame. I know this is old, but I'm I tripping out or did you tell him that he was wrong and then pretty much repeat what he had said? Your argument should have been about the 2.8 part of the statement of equivalent, not the focal length or field of view equivalent. So the 35mm equivalent would be 80-300mm f5.6 but I find this misleading as well. In my opinion (which admittedly is not worth much in this field) the m43 sensor takes less total light spread evenly across the sensor than a full frame sensor would to equate to the same amount of total light for that given surface area. Now that's just my theory. Also I think the crop factor plays a bigger role in introducing noise into the image than the light gathering does personally anyway. Well that's my not quite two cents worth. Thanks and have a nice day.
