Nice to see some half frame love! - I’ve got the Pen EES-2 with a 2.8 lens, fun to shoot - uploaded a review a while back. This f1.9 looks pretty sweet - Thanks for sharing!

Really informative, everything that I wanted to know :) Just scored a very clean one on ebay and looking forward to putting a roll of HP5 through it. Thanks for the detailed info -- subbed.

Wow. This video was so in-depth and useful! I just got into film, and I got this as my first camera. I've been watching so many videos and this is the BEST I've ever seen lol. Thanks for making this video. Too bad I already took some shots without the ISO set correctly haha.

I just bought a PEN-D yesterday. It is absolutely gorgeous condition, but the light meter is not working. I have to check the electrical connections to the selenium cell, but I will be happy shooting sunny-16 if needed. A nice find for $40 CAD!
@dangerpowers1234 жыл бұрын
Yerr it's great the meter is not coupled to the camera ..so it's no big deal if it doesn't work.

I bought a D3 yesterday here in Tokyo while on photoholiday. I love the Olympus halfframe cameras. I’ve got an EE2 and FT as well. Now on to a Pen W which was used by Daido Moriyama. A rare one and thus expensive Nice and clear review!! Thanks for sharing

That's a sweet looking camera. The old time meter with needle up top looks awesome. I purchased an old Yashica Himatic C that had a selenium cell, but unfortunately it was dead on arrival. Also, if you get into half frames, maybe check out the Canon Demi. I really enjoyed shooting with it when I had it.

I was so excited to get one of these, but it seems when I wind on it clicks over and I can’t depress the shutter. I wonder if there’s a latch or tooth catch or something to let the winder know to stop the film moving to its correct next frame position?

The Pen EE has a selenium meter too..... So no batteries are required! It's a crackin point n shoot camera!! You must try it!

Hi! I just bought myself this same exact camera. Does anyone know where to buy a film roll? And what type it should be? Thanks in advance!

I get my film off eBay usually.or Amazon. It takes 35mm film. Black and white...I'd recommend Ilford HP5 400, or XP2 400 super.

Seem like this camera don’t have film speed setting. And one more thing may ask, between this pen d and pens which one is recommended? Thank
@dangerpowers1235 жыл бұрын
You set the film speed on the lens

Hi there thanks for posting. I just bought one of these and noticed that there looks to be a crack in the mirror. From your video, looks like you have one too. Will this effect my photos? (its a hairline crack at the top part of the mirror).

I'll have to check .....I didn't realise I had a crack too. But either way the mirror doesn't effect the photos. And my Pen D is perfectly fine so reckon yours will be too

can you use this without the meter working? for example if I had an app? would that work? thanks

Yes the meter is uncoupled so it's a guide essentially... Tells you what settings to select. You don't need to use it though

@@dangerpowers123 Incidentally, I have one f these - the f1.7 D3 - one thing to watch out for is a camera with sticky shutter blades - it's very common with this model, especially if the camera has been sitting idle for some years. Apparently, its an easy fix - something a little solvent can clear - but I haven't that kind of confident skill. I had to send mine away for CLA - at £100 - on top of the cost of the camera. Something to be wary of anyway. It's a great little camera, in theory, albeit I haven't really used it much - since getting it CLA'd. It's difficult to trust the 'guestimate' focus..
@dangerpowers1235 жыл бұрын
