The E-P5 is one of my favorites. It was ahead of its time with the high rez tilt screen and superb image stabilization. I may pick up another when the price is right.

Great EDC choices. Both of them. Both classics/forever cameras.

Retinas, from the first and up to this model (1951-54) are my beloved cameras of all time...

The Retina IIa is my favorite

Have the same lens on my EP-5. No bigger than a pancake zoom but sharper and faster. The five axis IBIS makes it a nice step up from an EPL-7.

My most used camera is the Retina 1B. This is the last version with the big viewfinder and light meter but no range finder.The finder does not have the distracting 35mm and 80mm frame lines of the more expensive IIC or IIIC. This is a fantastic camera.

I picked up a Retina IIc for a very reasonable price at Roberts Camera. It takes great pictures. After a little study I realized the model IIa has a faster lens, and when I bought one I found it's actually a bit smaller than the IIc and fits really nicely in my hand. These retinas are really well made, inspire confidence, and take excellent pictures. As for digital, I have the Olympus OMD10, but more often select a Lumix LX10 or L100 for their zoom lenses. The Retinas are able to close even with a 29.5mm filter in place. Nice!

Hey Don, do you think OM Systems will continue the E-P line? They said yes, but nothing new!

It's hard to say but I think they will. There seems to be a lot of interest in an update to the Pen F so I wouldn't be surprised to see something come out.

Nice video - do you find the Panasonic better than the Olympus? I just got a used E-P5 (watching your videos 🙂). But the smallest lens I have is the 45mm f1.8. It is a bit long, so I was looking to find a used Olympus 17 or 20mm
@dongummphotography2 жыл бұрын
Either lens would be great! The 17mm f2.8 is not as sharp as the 17mm f1.8, mainly at the edges, but is more compact. The 20mm f1.7 is a stellar performer and is a compact lens.

@@dongummphotography now my 17 2.8 is a razor through most of the frame and edges are mostly ok. A tiny bargain at $80.

@@Austinite333 I love the 17mm f2.8. It is a real sleeper in my opinion.

Nice video :) I like different cameras, most often I am accompanied by a small Nikon d5300 with 35mm f1.8, voigtlander vf 135 or Kodak Retina type 148. Best regards and I wish you only successful. and interesting photos

I use an Olympus EPL-1 and the Lumix 12-32 pancake zoom. It's a very lightweight and versatile camera, it looks very non-professional too which is a big advantage, plus its a cheap enough package that i'm not worried about tossing it around a bit in my bag or whatever, I could easily replace it if anything happened to it.

How does that Retina lens hood attach? I need one for mine, especially since the lens has haze.
@dongummphotography6 ай бұрын
It is a slip on hood. I found mine at an antique flea market for 1 dollar and found it right after finding the Retina IIa at Goodwill for 7 dollars. I was feeling pretty blessed at that point.
