A very good and useful overview. Thanks. I have had my camera for 4 months and didn't know most of this stuff. As you say, the menu options are so large they need lots of patience and effort to learn.

You're welcome. When you are in the manual focus-mode (MF), you must press the magnification-button over the screen on the right side, then you see the indicator. Once you turn the focus-ring at the lens, you see the magnification on the screen and you can turn the dial on the backside of the camera to change the magnification-factor up to 14x. Hope, this helps you.

Great video review, I am considering this camera as my "small rig for vacation etc" , is there a bracketing exposure option? also, how easy (or difficult) is to ride the Aperture Exposure Compensation when on Aperture Priority? or Flash Exposure Compensation? Ultimately how would you compare the EPL5 Image Quality? (as good as: D90, D7100, 60D etc) Thank you again for the video , very informative.

Thanks for ur review and thoughts about this great camera ! Im just having a doubt in the manual focusing, the magnification indicator in the left bottom of the screen doesn't show in my camera. Do i have to turn on any other settings to activate it. Pls help me regarding this and I would also like to hear a more detailed thoughts about his camera from u . cheers!

👏Indeed I learned a lot from this video. I've had this camera for a few years and I didn't know about the display menu. I have to thank the reviewer. Olympus, however, has not made easy for the user to access this camera full potential 😏

I have followed you and Olympus cameras for a while now. I took out my PL five and started following a video that you did in English. Now I have lost my super control panel. In the menu it says it’s on but when I hit the OK button in aperture priority, all the settings come up on the side of the screen and not the super control manual. How do I get it back!

You should be able to find view finder on Olympus webpage or on ebay/Amazon.

Hi! I have olympus epl5 too. I bought the camera because so many good reviews about it. But there's something make me not quite enjoy using it which is the object seems zoomed-in on the live view. I've read the manual and searched online to find out why it is and how to fix but found nothing. Can you please let me know what to do with it? The result will look like normal - not zoomed in - size only if i set photo format to RAW , but if set to JPEG the photos result will be zoomed in by itself as it look as on live view.

Thanks for the video. I ve bought the elp5 and it seems crazy to me they dont have a way to fire a flash if youre using the hotshoe for a viewfinder, which I do permanently. Has anyone found a way around this prob?

Here I am again.....w/ the same question. I just watched your video, same settings, but even if I put it in P mode and hit SET, I do NOT get the super control panel....everything is aligned on the sides of the screen.....Please advise....I use to have it....

After enabling the “Super Control Panel” in the settings menu… -> Press the INFO button to toggle between “live guide” and “SCP” view.

ThisThatNew Yes, you can. This is from Olympus's support page: Can I use an accessory microphone instead of the built-in microphone when shooting videos? The hotshoe and accessory port of the E-PL5 can accept the External Microphone Adapter Set (SEMA-1), which includes the SEMA-1 Adapter, the ME-51S Stereo Microphone, and an extension cable with a tie clip to hold the microphone. The SEMA-1 Adapter has a 3.5 mm stereo jack that can accept other microphones with 3.5 mm plugs or receivers for wireless microphones that have a 3.5 mm stereo plug.

I mean directly there is isn't any 3.5mm port, u need to purchase the adapter separately.
