Hey Dan, thanks for the asking! The TG-6 without the FCON T02 attachment, has about a 25mm field of view at it's widest. However, the FCON T02 lens attachment gives you a wider, fisheye field of view, about 8mm. So, the FCON T02 dome (#64362) is needed if you want to put it in an Ikelite Housing. This is because it adds overall size to the camera, and we can't get around that without having a separate dome. The advantage being you can use the wider field of view for more creative shots: split shots, close focus wide angle, ultra wide, etc. If you're interested in learning more about these techniques you can check out our KZbin Shorts, we've got a bunch of them covering all these techniques. Hello, thank you for your helpful videos. I love my underwater housing! Do you know if it's possible to shoot a full circular video with the fisheye lens attachment on this camera? I get a full circular still photo, but with video it crops the top and bottom. TY!

Hi, glad you found the video helpful and reached out! Unfortunately, in video mode, the TG-6 changes to a 16:9 aspect ratio without the option to change it. This is the crop you're experiencing. In photo mode, the camera is in a 4:3 aspect ratio, allowing you to see the entire frame. One trick you could try is turning off image stabilization. You will still get a crop, but it crops in a bit less. You can find this option by clicking "OK" > "M-IS" and choosing "on" or "off." Hope this helps!

Hello, I have the Olympus TG-6 with the circular Fisheye Converter FCON T02 LENSE. I purchased this a while back to take with me on a flyfishing trip to Chile in 2023. The shots I hope to take are photos of trout that I catch in the rivers while there. The above and below water shots are what I'm after. Can I use the camera with the FCON attached without using the housing and still stay waterproof? I would love to know your thoughts. Thanks for your help! Tim

Hi Tim, thanks for asking! The FCON lens is independent from our Ikelite Housing and port attachments, so as long as you're within the recommended depth (~50ft) then your TG-6 should be waterproof. However, nothing is guaranteed. That's why we recommend our TG-6 housing to insure no water even begins to touch your camera. If you have any other questions, let us know and good luck on your trip!

Also, the FCON T02 by itself has a relatively small surface area which makes splitting the water line for over/under images more difficult. This is where the dome port that we produce for this lens is very useful when paired with our TG6 housing.

Hi Tolits, yes you can use the FCON lens without the housing. However, for an added level of security when taking your gear underwater, we recommend putting it in one of our housing. Let us know if you have any other questions!

Good question! To the best of our knowledge, the Olympus PT-059 housing does not support the use of the FCON-T02 Lens.

The FCON-T02 is a full 180º circular fisheye lens at its widest setting. The FCON-T01 was designed for previous models in the TG-series. Also it is too large to fit through the port hole in the housing.

No you do not need to vacuum test the housing. Also the waterproofing of the camera provides you protection in the unlikely event of a leak. The housing is near neutral, only very slightly positive.

No unfortunately the FCON-T01 lens is different dimensionally and won’t work. I believe you can use the T02 lens on the TG-5.

Hi! The TG-6 housing, on it's own, includes a seamless port that fits the Olympus TG-6. However, if you have a FCON-T02 Fisheye lens then you will need a separate dome.
