Omaha Police investigates shots fired in a hostage situation

Omaha police say two people are injured after a suspect and officers exchanged gun fire during a domestic violence call near 43rd and Frances Streets. Officers say the male suspect who fired at officers was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. A female victim was also taken to the hospital but police say she should survive .No officers were hurt. Police are investigating if the suspect was hit by gunfire or if his injuries were self-inflicted.
