OMAN - Balcony walk W6 in Omani Grand Canyon in Hajar mountains and under Jabal al Shams

One of the best hiking trails in Oman is Balcony walk.
To the village of Khitaym, apart from the picturesque hiking trail, there is also a mountain road, sometimes even an asphalt road.
To drive it, the Omanis recommend an off-road car, although in this case it is not necessary. We saw many ordinary passenger cars on the spot. Along the way, it is worth stopping at several viewpoints from which you can admire both the high peaks and the cavernous Grand Canyon of Oman.

Spectacular views and wadis. I'm doing the Camino Santiago in September (800km) but would love to do Hajar Mountains. Is it unrealistic to trek say Nizwa to Omani Canyon and back to a village for a taxi, all on foot (150-200km)? Wild camping. I'd also like to go in February.

@@encouragesolutions2595 well I'm not sure if it is possible due to lack of water on the way, probably it is possible with good planning. There is good few days hike from Wadi to Wadi across the mountains which I would love to do in future

Cant wait to go there, can it be accessed by a smaller car rather than a 4x4?

Well, it is possible but you need to be very careful and patient. Road is mostly gravel and not best on some places. I went with small saloon car so it should not be problem to you as well. :) I wish you amazing time there, i love that place!
