hell yeah Nickelodeon was great had all the best cartoons live shows catered to young kids and teens in its heyday nothing compares and even Disney was doing its thing . It was nickelodeon and when we grew up got a little bit older B.E.T before all the changes with viacom and other bs .By the time we were grown though the quality went down and its not just because we got older lol. You had to be there and notice the huge decline over years in tv programming as a whole.

I would've watched a Marcus and Mo spin off, showing them going off to college or something. I don't blame TJ, it was his show, but I don't know, Jason Weaver could've argued for more money as well. This guy was coming off of playing simba's singing voice in the biggest animated film of all time in my opinion and playing young michael jackson in one of the greatest biopics ever! Omar was coming off the heels of Hanging with Mr. Cooper and hosting one of the greatest kid tv game shows, this was really an All Star cast who all deserved a raise.

I agree. Omar himself has said in another interview that when the cast met each other Jason had the bigger name at the time. So yeah TJ is selfish. The show ran from 97 to 99. Hadn’t it been for TJ’s selfishness the show could’ve gone on at least till 2002

that’s a lot of kid/family sitcoms. the bully always end up being a friend lol. my theory is cause the bullies usually be the most funniest ones in the show, on some background, one liner shit at first but then the next season give them more screen time and lines because they found out they were a fan favourite. not even jus live action shows, look at cartoons too and notice how some the bullies jus end up around the main cast lol . all sitcoms and most cartoons got a episode focused on the bully too. character development

Tahj deserved more money. Omar basically just said “We got paid as much as the lead, so we were cool.” Of course y’all were ok with it! 😂 Plus, Tahj was a minor. Any decision that was made about him showing up was on his parents.

I just figured that after the show, he wanted to focus on being a regular kid. Tia and Tamera were his sisters. They could've easily hooked him up if he still wanted to act in Hollywood.

As a white older borderline Millennial, I love Smart Guy. It covered topics that teach and not just sitcom filler. The cast deserved larger pay checks and treatment. I always believe that people regardless of color, creed, disability, ethnicity, age, and whatever else makes us unique, should be treated equally and fairly. It's 2022, and it hadn't improved much in the Industry. It's about time that we do.

I appreciate how Omar stayed objective about the situation. That really speaks to one's maturity as a person and people don't often realize that. That said, Tahj was badly advised. He didn't have any of the leverage that you need to make demands. Fair is fair but business is business. They could have cancelled the show and put an end to his career right then and there and that would have been that. Besides, regular actors on TV shows usually make good money between per episode pay and syndication residuals. Hell, Betty White is still drawing checks from shows she did 40 and 50 years ago. Badly advised.
