I just watched an 8 minute interview and only understood maybe 10 words, but still liked it because Omar looked gorgeous and his facial expressions are so interesting.

English subtitles: O: I almost forgot the interview. I was on my way out. I: Yes I thought that it was best to remind you before you ran away. I: How are you doing? O: It is fine. I am good thanks. I: It is full speed ahead in your life right now it seems like. O: Yes I at least try. I l love to work. I: We have meet a few times before when you were in your band FO&O that changed names a few times. I think you were called The Fooo conspiracy at the time. I remember that it felt like you guys were very professional and almost like you were veterans that had been in the business for a long time even though none of you were very old. O: No. I: How old are you now? O: I am twenty years old. I: And you have already achieved this much? O: Yes quite a bit. It is very fun actually. I: How does it feel? You became an idol when you were very young. When you were here last time there was fans outside. It was during this era. (refers to the Kangaroos-music video behind them). I love this video. O: Oh my god. Yes we became idols early. And it went very fast for us as well. It was so fun. I miss those times a bit. I: Was it hard being 15-16 years old having a lot of girls and boys outside waiting for you? O: It was of cause hard sometimes. When I was out with my family doing things or with neighbors if there was fans outside our homes it was hard. Apart from that we had so much fun. We have had the best teenage years. I: That's wonderful. You have been in the business even before the band. We can't resist showing the video of you when you competed in "Talang" (Sweden's got talent). O: Oh no. Noo. I: I thought you would have that reaction. *They watch the video of 10 year old Omar singing La vida loca* O: That is not me. Oh my god. *Omar sings and dances a bit to La vida loca* O: That does not even look like me anymore. I: What did that guy think about life? O: Oh god. What did he think? I probably thought "my tummy hurts" before I went on stage. I: You were nervous? O: Yes. I was so nervous. U had the worst cramps here *shows where* O: But it was really fun. It was were it all began. I: You released a new song yesterday. O: Yesterday yes. I: You mix Swedish and English in that one. "På min telephone" O: Toda la noche. I Yeah right. A bit of Spanish as well. Three languages in the same title. O: Exactly. I: You are on your own now. How do you think it is going? O: It is making progress. I have a lot of dreams and a lot of things I want to achieve. But it takes time. It takes time to write music. It takes time for me who wants to write in different languages since you might want a song in one language and sometimes you might want to mix two languages. It takes time but I am makig progress I think. I: How is it to be on your own after a few years in a band when you had the other band members to lean on? O: I feel comfortable. I started out on my own. And then I got into the band and learned a lot and now I am on my own again. We are all comfortable. We are doing our own things. It is fun. I: You competed in "Melodifestivalen" (Swedish elections for ESC) with the song you performed with here. It didn't go very well. O: No not in the contest. I: Were you disappointed? O: No I was not disappointed. I was so satisfied with my performance. It was so fun. I am not going to lie. I of cause wanted to be in the final. When I watched the final I thought "I could really have been there" I: The result of the competition does not always determine if it is going to become a hit or not. I think it has streamed six or seven million times. It became a hit. O: Yes my song streamed good anyways. I guess that people liked it. It did well on the charts. It was very fun actually. I am very happy about that performance. I: What are your plans for the future? You just released a new song. O: Yes I have released this song now. I want to continue in the studio. I might release an EP in the future. You never know. And I still have a dream of Latin america and the USA. I want to go there. I was born in Venezuela. I speak Spanish and I do music with that vibe. I: During your time in FO&O you tried to take them there with you. O: Yes. But now I want to go to Latin america. I want to push that. I really want to go there. I: Will you do a lot of gigs? O: A bit. I am mostly in the studio though. I: You had a gig at Pride. How was that? O: It was so fun. Super fun. It was a lot of people. It was my first time doing pride. It was very fun. I: Did you get a response? O: Yes. People liked what I did there. It was nice. I: What does pride mean to you? O: That everyone should be treated equally and accepted as they are. That are the basics. Acceptance no matter what. As long as it does not include you it is not your problem. I: Are you still in contact with your old band mates in FO&O? I have seen on instagram that you guys seem to be very close. Even after you split up. O: I would say that we are close. We had dinner together not long ago actually. It was very tasty. Felix was the chef. We had fun. We are still in contact. I: Will you feature each other in the future when you do music? O: Do you mean in our solo careers? I: I don't know. Why not? O: Yeah. Why not? I would not be surprised if we did something new as a group in the future. We are a band after all. We could definitely do that sometime. We are not there yet. We still want to do our own things for now. We'll have to wait and see. I: You said that you are hoping to do an EP. How do you write music. Who do you work with? O: I mostly mix. I have different sounds and therefore I work with different people. I have some latin american sounds and in Swedish. There are not a lot of latinos that do music in Sweden and therefore I mostly write with a few people. For example "J" and the whole crew who helped me with my first single. And then I work with Robin Stjernberg and Johan Lindbrandt a lot. They are very good. I: Robin was here and lifted you to the skies. Thanks for coming. O: Thanks for having me.
