He was using this as an example, but I want to back him in that this is 1000% true. This episode is pure gold. I have a client that spent 5 years selling their candles at markets and online. KZbin Gives 55% of monetized views and 70% of supers,memberships,or gifted members. Yes The niche is important, but that's because of Advertisers, not KZbin. Advertisers are going to pay more for that spot to beat out other people because they know they'll make more money. For example my channels have a HEAVY lean toward older women, because of this I have a VERY High Cpm/RPM. Older Women are MUCH more likely to spend on ads. So You CAN control CPM/RPM, but it's through the audience you serve not necessarily the niche. Just my two sense 😅 love the pod.

To answer further in her question at 4:06 , "it YT is the best platform for building trust, why is it the hardest for most people?"... I would say because people who fall into the short form trap, get caught up in vanity metrics/views. If youre utilizing social media for building a business, I would wager that you will earn WAY MORE with long form videos that reach hundreds to a few thousand of the RIGHT people, than you will from short form that gets you hundreds of thousands of views to a totally random audience.

I’m no expert on grief but I do know that it’s important to let yourself move through it instead of ignoring it or bottling it up. Maybe you can play around with some words in rebranding like calling your channel or a playlist on your channel “Good Grief”?

I think it's 55% that creators get. KZbin keeps 45%. Nice discussion. I really like your format. Laid back discussion. I am back to square one researching CPMs before re-entering KZbin with my current channel. I think one has to sort of plan ahead....in regards to the content they want to create. It was a real struggle for me being on KZbin for 10+ years with only 41k subs...making literally pennies for ads. Now I am having to revisit the content and figure out how to make more engaging videos and treat it like a business. Have to know how to retain viewers for the duration of your video. It's getting to be a skill vs just posting every week (which is what I did before).

I just came across your Contant. I noticed a few things; put your phone down and leave it on silent, or do not disturb, you also didn’t let the guy speak as much as I would’ve like to hear, you said I a lot in this interview, didn’t hear much from your guest.
