good interview the punishment of luxury is such a brilliant album - a surprise for me as well being in my 20s and only knowing omd for a couple of their old hits - they seem like great guys!

My favourite number of OMD is Shame words to this song are very meaningfull

The single and album version is different. The remix was not enough to make it a hit in Britain as by then they were fading in popularity and focused more on US success. If You Leave had been a number 4 hit in 1986 on the Billboard chart and Dreaming would go on to reach number 13 in America in 1988.

OMD, Gary Numan, Ultravox, Vangelis, Jean Michel Jarre and Depeche Mode are amongst my favorite artists. I was lucky enough to be a night club DJ from the late 70s which allowed me to present and promote these new artists.

That male presenter is in orr of paul and andy The great thing abt OMD is they have a sound that has been with them since 1978/79 one of best groups that have graced the pop world for 40years

My mother's maiden name was mary mccluskey who's cousin went to liverpool and said andy mccluskey could be related andy is 9yrs younger than me. Christine Gillen.

I think i might be related to andy mccluskey my grandfather was patrick mccluskey whowas born in scotland and also worked on the railways. My mother told me she had a cousin who went to live in liverpool c gillen

Karl Bartos gave Andy the idea for Atomic Kitten lmao that's a new information. Andy often talks about Atomic Kitten but never had I seen him saying that. Nice interview!

OMD's Best Music by far came from the first 4 Albums .they went very " Pop orientated " to the extent that the Pacific Age album caused Big rifts between Andy Mcluskey and the rest of the band ! Who subsequently left .. The " Tribute " outfit that Andy then continued with was a different animal before that Split . Later on .. they reformed ( to there Credit ) However . Whatever they do they WILL NOT emulate the early Material ..songs like Enola Gay, Statues, 2nd Thought , Messerschmitt Twins , Telegraph , Souvenir , Messages etc .. I suspect now though living on past glories .. Although , prove me wrong ??
