It was even more impactful because one of the guys leading the last stand was Grenn--one of Jons homies. T_T Even though they started off like petty schoolyard enemies, they both wised up real quick and became true brothers of the Nights Watch. He was the first to stand up when Jon was taking volunteers beyond the Wall to kill the Mutineers. He always had his back when it mattered the most. *And now his watch is ended.*

The best episode in the entire show and its not even close. Castle Black from beginning to end; Alliser vs Tormund, hold the gate, the one shot, & Ygritte's death. Other episodes from other seasons are great and very shocking but this is a Masterpiece of filming and story telling from beginning to end.

I don’t know if you’ve heard of this singer. “Rag and bone man“ he’s very famous in the UK and US. He wrote a song immediately after seeing Egret being shot by Ollie and John holding her. It upset him so much that he made a song called. Skin… please watch on KZbin Rag’n’Bone Man “skin” live from Britt 2018 awards! Rag’n’Bone Man is 6 foot six with the most gorgeous voice. And when I heard this song and all the words, I couldn’t stop crying it was beautiful.

This was one of the CRAZIEST episodes in the show. Almost as good as "Blackwater", even! My Mom and I had to take a break by the third act when we were watching this, OMFG... XD ... Grenn and Pyp... We shall never see their like again. As for Ygritte, she was a real one. War really is hell...

I love Alliser Thorne in this episode. Like yeah he sucks but he pops off here. It turns him from an arsehole into a genuinely likeable character because it's not just him being an ass, it's him leading by example, doing what he's expected of the people he's trained. He's not just words, he actually does this.
