We tried this out at the OTC just a couple weeks back!!! It gives so much leverage, and I could finally do a nice backstroke start :)

If omega pads weren't designed to be as slippery as possible this wouldn't be an issue...never once even came close to slipping on a Colorado touchpad.

Brian Woodbury Indeed, though I have slipped on a pad that was like the Colorado's (i.e. smooth surface, not ones made of corroflute like Omega). I think there is some onus on the pad owners...if they aren't cleaned or maintained they become inconsistent across the own surface and between pads. The ones I slipped on actually had a slimy residue on them where the surface had begun to breakdown!
