People are nuts saying the Japanese soundtrack version of intro is better. This one oozes style and hero off to save the world vibes. Haven't heard this in decades but still sells me on the premise of game as it did when i was a child. Another gem of this era i would recommend is "Gaia Seed". Solid side scrolling shooting game with excellent soundtrack.

ive heard debates on which one is the better intro song, but ask any naval aviator who've actually LAUNCHED from a catapult. ask them which song would get them hyped to launch. 10/10 times its gonna be this one. the other songs just do not fit the narrative of a mech pilot preping up to launch back in time to kick some alien ass.

I was ten when this came out. It was one of the games my dad bought me to start with. Akuji the Heartless Omega Boost Final Fantasy 7 & 8 I rented many other things later. Blockbuster was fun. Dad would rent a movie and I would rent a game and we would return them. Dominos pizza. Mountain dew. Watched Ace Ventura Starship troopers and played games. What wonderful weekends we had. Those were some of the best days we had. Back when we were forced to sit at each other's houses to have fun, invite people over and enjoy. My sister played too and our cousins would come over and ioin us in the fun. We would share game info, write our own strategy guides and have a blast. I miss that shit

Technically, I believe this game predates Bebop, in production as well as release (the voiceovers for Omega Boost are universal [there is no Japanese voice cast]). Omega Boost first released in Japan on April 22, 1999, while the earliest dub VHS volume for Bebop released as early as September 1999 ttbomk). That said, voice recording for both was done by the same companies (Animaze/ZRO Limit Productions, with recording at Magnitude 8) and a number of cast members appear between the two projects: -Steve Blum (aka David Lucas) [Spike] dubs over Greg Funk as Lester -Beau Billingslea [Jet] dubs over Rudy Hamilton Jr. as Engineer -Wendee Lee [Faye] is the female hangar announcer at 1:42 at the very least. It's possible she did more than that, but it's tough to distinguish her from Julie Pickering (aka Julie Ann Taylor) from older-sounding roles, and the accents and clutter only make it harder -Paul St. Peter (aka George C. Cole) [Punch] is the male French-accented control room announcer voice at 0:54 and 1:13 -George Kee (aka George Cheung) (aka G.K.C.), who I understand is the Rinou Tea House Owner in Bebop Episode 2, is also somewhere in this opening [along with Alex Araujo (who does the male Spanish announcer voice)] -Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (aka Melissa Williamson) [Julia] is the computer voice heard in the game's ending sequence.
