Deadbridge Chant seems to be a good choice for this commander. Putting 10 cards into the graveyard means 10 tokens. It gives you recursion and is also a permanent card.

7:28 Funny you say this while referencing a WH 40K card, because the orks in 40K are basically sapient fungi colonies, so when they pilot their ships they are essentially ships being piloted by fungus.

@ComradeVect Tokens are permanents and are technically cards when referring to non-specific permanents. For example if you were to go by your logic effects like "Destroy target card" wouldn't hit tokens with your logic hence why so many cards specifically state "non token card" or "non token permanent".

Well, if the tokens would trigger descend this commander would be even more broken than it already is. „Oh yeah, I just sacrifice ten fungis with Lich-Knights‘ Conquest to get ten creatures back. And because I descended now ten times I get those tokens back at my end step. And don‘t forget my Roaming Throne which makes The Mycrotyrant trigger twice so I get 20 tokens for sacrificing 10 tokens.“ That would be totally over the top, so I‘m really glad that it doesn‘t work like that. That all being sad, thanks for the ideas. Already built her but I sure as hell need and want to upgrade it some more so this video arrived at the perfect time for me!

I'm not usually a fan of self mill effects because my bad luck too often makes me mill the cards I don't want to mill and not mill the ones I don't care about (at the moment) or do want to mill. So I was personally going to go for an aristocrat strategy with my Mycotyrant deck. But... I like this build a lot and might just give it a try. I also have a few cards already that I could add as upgrades, ones that I know wouldn't be mentioned because they aren't typically budget but which I got lucky with in packs or splurged on. So I'm gonna try this.

I find broken enchantments usually stick around a little bit longer than broken creatures, but that might just the pod I play with. Side note, I am correct in assuming gravepact works with tokens right? Because tokens hit the graveyard then disappear?

would grave pact work in this deck on the original print it just says “whenever a creature goes to the graveyard target opponent…” however on the newer prints it says “when a creature dies, target opponent…” so would milling work with grave pact even still would be good for the sacrificial part of the deck but curious how it plays out for mill

Can someone explain to me what he talks about tokens are not permanents? 110.1. A permanent is a card or token on the battlefield. A permanent remains on the battlefield indefinitely. A card or token becomes a permanent as it enters the battlefield and it stops being a permanent as it’s moved to another zone by an effect or rule.
@AustinOnStandby10 ай бұрын
Tokens are permanents. But they are not cards. Descend specifically triggers with “permanent cards.”

@madmanvarietyshow960510 ай бұрын
You're actually wrong about the descending and tokens. Tokens *ARE* considered permanents and when they LTB they count as going into the graveyard, even if they physically don't, they still count as going into the graveyard.
@ericdavis30469 ай бұрын
He said permanent CARD, like Mycotyrant’s text states. Tokens are not cards. “108.2b Tokens aren’t considered cards-even a card-sized game supplement that represents a token isn’t considered a card for rules purposes.”
@sagetheweeb215410 ай бұрын
Tokens are counted as permanents, they just don’t have mana values unless they’re a copy of a permanent with a mana value, something to know for food chain situations, when they die or are sacrificed they hit the graveyard and then fizzle from existence, they can’t be reanimated because they don’t exist anymore but I’m pretty certain they still count towards decent triggers, like 90% certain
