It's actually Hesalite which is an acrylic more like plexiglass than "plastic". The original crystal was made from that (vs sapphire) because it was less prone to shattering, a useful feature in close confines in zero gravity. For $1,000 USD more you can get the sapphire front and back crystal, but for my money, if you get a retro/historic watch you go all the way. Kudos.

Nice unboxing video. I went for the steel bracelet version. I personally think that is better value as there are tons of very high end leather straps that you can fit on the Speedmaster Professional. But getting the bracelet is going to be expensive.

Bonjour Manny Calvera .. moi aussi g opté pour le bracelet acier mais g acheter le bracelet cuir et boucle déployante mais c vrai que g été partagé . mais je pense et ça n engage que moi q une montre comme ça il faut pas lui mettre ´ importe quel bracelet car c un tout comme le fait que dans le marché de l occasion on recherche l origine .. une montre doit correspondre à son bracelet d origine car c est un ensemble.. c pour ça qu acheter un autre bracelet de la même marque reste très cher ..

Just picked up my sapphire crystal, steel bracelet version yesterday. Paid full price though, (because I’m a shit haggler, so I don’t bother 😂). Had my eye on it for ages and I’m not disappointed. If you think this box is big and fancy, take a look at the Jacob & Co Astronomia unboxing videos. It comes in a meteorite with a tv screen in it. Mind you at over half a million quid for the cheap one, it’s kind of expected.

Great Review, is that a 20mm deployment clasp? I have the same watch but on an omega bracelet but I'm not sure what size is the leather strap and the deployment clasp.

This is the omega strap, as it came. I'm sure you know they obviously do the stainless version to. I think it is 20mm (maybe double-check)

While some pieces may not be limited edition collaboration models, would you say that the g shocks with special patterns or colours (camo/denim/slash etc) are more uncommon and rarer than the other basic models? I can’t seem to find some of the patterned models in watch shops anymore.
