An astute viewer indicated my misuse of the term tricompax. Although it is frequently used to described a chronograph with a 3, 6, 9 subdial layout, this is incorrect. The term has its origins from a specific Universal Geneve timepiece. So in referring to any chronograph with a 3, 6, 9 subdial layout I will henceforth refer it as a "3,6, 9 layout"

Very fine watch! It was thoroughly tested among a couple of other brand watches and was the only one that passed the NASA Space Program test. For years I followed and googled this watch to know all about it. But since a couple of weeks I have one and wear it with very much pleasure. I like the fact that it is a manual wounding movement, plus personally the watch connects with the only still camera brand that was used in space and on the moon: the Swedish Hasselblad analog mid format SLR. Also a fantastic and highly durable tool! THX for your review :)

As far as the Omega Boutique overhaul experience is concerned there won't be any footage of me going there or any video of the watch being overhauled. It will be a discussion of why I decided to overhaul the watch in the first place, my experience in deling with Omega, and a discussion of what really happens if you decide to bring your watch there for some work. I will also show my viewers the parts of the watch that were returned to me and subsequently replaced with new ones.

Absolutely waterproof to the deep end of the pool (12ft). I've been showering everyday and swimming and hot tubbbing occasionally for six years now. They're up to $4000 now. If Omega rates it for 150 feet, I'm sure it'll be OK.

I love the hand wind thing its got going on and the trick second hand hack we can do with it. Just too note, this watch is still worn in space, photo dated 17th Aug 2017 very clearly shows the Omega Speedy Pro being worn on an EVA on that date. so that's 60 years after the watch was first distributed in 1957. Amazing heritage and to think still in the space programme out living mercury, Gemini Apollo, Space shuttle, All things especially designed for space. Hey great video, really appreciate the high level of explanation. I was wondering - I noticed there are a handful of different Omega Speedmaster Professional Chronograph Moon Watch (different ID numbers)...Could you explain the difference between all of these? And which one would be most valuable and why? I heard the one with the see-through backing was the one you'd want...but this video makes me think otherwise... Thanks for all your help
@3691688 жыл бұрын
+miniovechkin8 There are indeed many Speedmaster variants. One variant has a Sapphire crystal and a dsiplay back for example. Other variants may be limited editions, and now there are Speedmasters with Coaxial movements. Way too many variants to discuss in this small space :). In terms of most "valubable" its hard to say. You would have to factor in rarity, and what such a Speedmaster would command on the open market. Sorry if I can't be more specific but valuation is a tricky thing, and I'm far , far from any expertise in this area. I'm just a guy who likes watches. Thanks for watching.

"don't wear it in the shower" Seriously some people are to precious when it comes to their speedmaster. It's the most rugged watch out there. I've had mine for twelve years; swam with it, showered, hasn't been serviced and still keeps the time.
@3691689 жыл бұрын
CountZero78 As far as the shower is concerned, the greater worry is the hot water, supposedly not good for the gaskets. Yes, the Speedmaster does have more than enough water resistance for swimming, but I guess I'm overly cautiouos depend on watch in is.

@minskwatcher10 жыл бұрын
NO BULLS**T WRISTWATCH REVIEWS Certainly I can explain that. I'm not saying it is not smooth. In fact it is smoother than usual. Most of the youtube videos are about 30 frames per second. Yours is 60. This is easy to notice when you are moving the watches quickly in the video.
@36916810 жыл бұрын
some more questions: is 60 "better" than 30?, I don't do anything special when I upload my videos, how does one control whether its 30 or 60?. is the fps an inherent property of the camcorder i'm using (ie no control over the fps)? thanks for your patience with these questions
@minskwatcher10 жыл бұрын
NO BULLS**T WRISTWATCH REVIEWS Your camera seems to record 60fps videos. It is quite a common thing nowadays. 60 gives a better impression in dynamic scenes. You don't have to do anything on youtube to make it work. It does all the stuff automatically. So don't worry about it:)

@3691689 жыл бұрын
Tobias Loholt I'm usually up on my pop culture but I've never heard of a comic called 'Tintin" :)
@zenodio3D9 жыл бұрын
NO BULLS**T WRISTWATCH REVIEWS I'm surprised, Tintin is an old comic written by a Belgian cartoonist called Hergé. The first issue was released in 1929 and has been a huge influence on adventure movies ever since, The Adventures of Tintin is quite famous by now, or at least in the Western European area. I grew up watching the cartoons and have been a big fan of the series ever since I first started watching it. It's obvious that the Indiana Jones movies were hugely influenced by the Tintin series. May I ask where you live? Maybe Tintin wasn't such a big deal in your area. If you Google: Tintin Rocket You can clearly see the resemblance between the rocket designed by Hergé and the "Tintin" Speedmaster. Either way, I hope that cleared things up a little :)

I did not imply that you couldn't swim or shower with them. The watch's WR is obviously more than enough for those activities. The Speedmaster just wasn't designed as a diving or swimming watch, so if I had to swim I would rather use a bonafide diving watch

@36916810 жыл бұрын
I think the problem with wearing it in the shower is the hot water, it may do something to the gaskets? The Speedmaster's WR should theoretically allow you to swim with it but I would worry about water entering from the Chrono push buttons. If the push buttons were screwed down like the ones on the Rolex Daytona I would not worry as much. The bottom line is that the Speedmaster is not a watch designed for the water regardless of the WR rating hence my conservative stance on whether you should shower or swim with it.
