Nothing is wrong with doing it though. =) It's good to be open minded about other games. I like just about all of them equally and enjoy all of his comparisons. Especially the Budokai 3 and BT3 one because his points were spot on in my opinion lol. Though I could say that the some of the ultimates are done better in B3. Just some.

There's no contest. Me and my brother traded in Burst Limit the next day. I'm not kidding. While BT3 is loads of fun to this day. Still being on the top of the food chain. The best thing about Burst Limit is it either comes with the first 7 episodes of the anime or the Dead Zone movie.

Thanks a lot for the video I'm thinking about what DBZ game to get, and there's just so many to choose nowadays, and everyone tells me to get a different one because everyone has a different taste. It doesn't help that I thought Budokai 3 and Budokai Tenkaichi 3 were the same. Guess I'll stick with BT3 To think back in the day, all I could play were japanese versions of Final Bout and Ultimate Battle 22. Both were kind of passable for their times I guess, but there's a point where you never want to touch them again.

First of all, being able to equip things doesnt make something an RPG in any possible way. Secondly the fact they are both DBZ games is like comparing an action movie to an action movie. The two games are in the same market. The fact they are different is what you compare. You compare the differences. If they are the same what are you comparing? The bottom line is, these arent fighting games first, they are DBZ games first.

Spot on comparison, I remembered seeing burst limit back when xbox 360 was first out, and was very impressed, but picking it up now, after all that time, I was massively disappointed, I even enjoyed budokai 2 on PS2 way more than burst limit, to be fair after clearing the story mode I don't even have any desire to play it again, and the cutscenes and graphics are a lot less impressive in comparison to other games now, than what I remember from when x360 was 'next gen'.

In my opinion the DBZ games went downhill after BT3. Not only did a lot of the games return to 2d fighting for some reason, which I find dull as I had gotten used to being able to move around as I please, but it's so obvious they became quick cash cows trying to milk off of the succes of the Budokai series. And that's why I think BT3 is still as loved as it is today, because it became a game that was a lot better than the games shelved out afterwards. I think that so far DB Xenoverse is the only game that was better than BT3 and that game was released in 2015! A game from 2015 is the first one to get better than a game from 2007!

While all your points may be somewhat valid, I'd just like to say this. Most of what happens in DBZ is fighting. And considering that Burst Limit is even considered a fighting game, it's already beaten BT3. As much as I love BT3, I will admit that it is the most overrated DBZ game out there. BT3 may have some depth, but at least in Burst Limit, when I perform a combo, it's not the same one every four seconds.

+M. Chedderbeef both BT3 and Burst Limit are fighting games... one is a traditional 2d fighter while the other is a 3d fighter, they're both still fighting games and same combos? I've seen this all over the place and I dont understand it, i think it has to do with people maybe not looking through all of the movesets that the characters have in terms of just pure hand to hand combat, there are _staggering_ amounts of different combos that just need a ton of button presses to do, i rarely use just the same combo over and over, I used to, but I dont anymore now that I've gotten better at the game regardless, if you like BL more than BT3, thats your opinion :)

Kal i rarely just mash Square 5-6 times, though usually I'm using low smashes, rather, knocking my opponent off-balance then fucking them up big time lol and i find looking through a lot of the other combos that the characters in BT3 have make it a lot more fun and effective at beating the shit out of my enemy XD. I LOVE smash attacks in BT3(Triangle after some button combinations if you didn't know), they break your opponent's defense sometimes, and they slow them down for a bit, it's pretty awesome to fuck up your opponent using them XD

No, it really wasn't difficult. Pretty easy really. Plus with that logic you might as well just say you need to get Budokai 1, Budokai 2, Budokai 3, Budokai Tenkaichi 1, Budokai Tenkaichi 2, Budokai Tenkaichi 3, Super DBZ, DBZ Sagas, Infinite World and of course Burst Limit. I mean they are all different in their own little subtle ways. So how could you compare Budokai 3 with Infinite World? I mean the story mode in both games are so different it would be unfair to compare them.

Even though I've actually owned and clocked BL and have only played BT3 at friends houses, BT3 is THE quintessential dragonball z game where you can fight exactly as they do in the anime and movies. BL is just a fighting game based on dragon ball z characters. Who cares about the graphics, graphics don't make the game

Compare them using only what is common between them. Ex: for B3 vs. IW, compare the gameplay and graphics between them. The story modes probably should be commented on, but should not factor into the comparison because of the fact that they are so different. To do otherwise is self-defeating, like comparing oranges to tomatoes on how sour they are, the tomato isn't supposed to be sour, so it'll lose every time. BTW, how much longer before you release your next PS2 retrospective? I can't wait!

For the most part, this comparison was pretty objective. BT3 does have more content and fanservice. The only part he failed giving decent reasons to was the gameplay section(which he failed to elaborate on the RB and B3 comparison as well) He has a B3/IW comparison, but he probably should have compared on of those to BL.

I loved the Tenkaichi Intros, i guess becuz of the designs for the intro. Burst Limit was kinda bad, but the Story Mode was great. BT3 was good for the Charcter selection and the Map selection. BT3 had A WHOLE lot of maps to play on and SO many characters

No problem. Localization basically mean, in this case, that it was made more 'American' or 'western'. So basically the version I have has mistranslated dialogue and changed music compared to the "Sparking! Meteor" release and some other copies which have the original Japanese anime music.

Its removed here, Canada and I think a few European countries[though I haven't seen many of those players]. Japan(obviously), Latin players and a few other players I've seen have the Sparking! Meteor version and of those with the Budokai Tenkaichi 3 version still have the original music. There is a difference between the PAL version and whatever version we have here which may be the difference.

@Fenonity sorry it's 20 seconds, and when you do the trianlge or the Y button combo the timer stops until the combo is done, and when it's the boost finnishes, you have to wait mabey 10-15 seconds, then you can charge up again and do the boost, however each time you do a bost it lowers the maximum Ki gauge, you have up to 6-8 times that you can do a boost, in each fight

@Goldendriger They took away manual lock-on too, so no need to FIND your opponent (unless you get hit by Solar Flare or an ultimate), they're always in a straight line away from you. And BT3 gave us the Z-Burst Dash, which lets you get really close to your opponent really fast, at the cost of some ki. And there's very few moves in BT3 that are spammable without the right items equipped. You must run into lots of Syn Shenron players online if you're complaining about spamming.

Have two onlines modes. Normal and Custom. First is for base characters. The second for the ones people have made. Or if you dont want to do that make it an option when you make a room to allow custom or not. Easy enough.

Breakthroughs are from the Budokai series, not the BT series. You can also assign more human players to tournaments than just computer players. Also I do believe i never said it was a better fighting game, what I think I said was it was a better DBZ game.

There are more smash attacks, more follow-ups, the rushes are more unique in BT3 when compared to BT2, most energy blasts feel more painful, and there are more characters and stages in BT2. And the customization in BT3 has more depth than just stat upgrades, like it was in BT2... And from my own experience, BT3 is faster than BL. But that might just be me figuring out BT3's controls much faster than BL's, and playing on higher difficulties accordingly.

yes your true, and i have to admit (if it was me) that i do have a bad habbit of repeating myself, but still, i liked the fact that in bt3 every char, was more unique, but that might be because we have a new system, so they might fix it or not. I have a wierd feeling, it wasnt a mistake, but the point to make every smash attack the same, and actually some chars got the same cancels as other (1 or more) like krillin, and frieza. Smash attack low, then rush attack.

It is difficult to compare a PS2 Game BT3 with PS3 BL. They are on different generation platforms, have different limitations on size, hardware capabilities, graphics, etc. Personally I feel that if BL was Budokai 3 with higher graphics, then 👍. But I think BT3 was pushing more on PS2 hardware. Prefer BT3

The easiest attacks in the game (after supers/ultimates) are rush attacks, and smash attacks, so some people, might only know the thing that every char has, and then decide okay every char has kiai, as smash attack 2, so every char plays the same. I know this sound stupid, but some people think this way.

For me anyway, a game with a learning curve, where giving time to play the game rewards you with skill, is better than a game where anyone can pick it up and play effectively. Omega2040, Although Akira Toryama did create the Cell Saga and the Buu Saga, he initially intended to end the series after the Frieza Saga (which in my opinion was the best). Anyway regarding the games --I haven't played either of them, but I did own the first 3 Budokai games and the first Budokai Tenkaichi game. And I have to say Budokai 3 was my favorite, mainly because I hated the first person perspective in Tenkaichi. And you've got to admit the action in Burst Limit looks way more fluid.

I love the music for your vid. Yeah FF7! Though to be on topic, I didn't like Burst Limit too much and Tenkaichi was just fan service with a broken defense system. Burst Limit wins for graphics but other than that I didn't really feel like one was better that the other. Really if they just remade Budokai 3 and not the gargantuan disappointment that was Infinite World, I'd get that above all other DBZ games.

@DracoFlame67 CPU? I dont play against CPU i play against my friends, CPU is for either practise or people whose friends dont wanna play. And for PVP then BL is much better, its faster and its easier to learn for people who are new to DBZ games, its litterally like 5-6 buttons to remember, where as BT3 you have to take a freaking course of how to play and what the different buttons do, get used to the way a character fights, their own moves. It takes forever for someone new

I don't see why every one hates Burst Limit, I thought Burst Limit was fantastic. I found the game play to be solid, the music to be amazing, and the cut scenes handled well. The scene where Goku fights Frezia sends chills down my spine. I feel like people give this game a bad wrap because it didn't have as much content as the previous entries. How ever, I feel like it did a lot with the content it had. I guess I personally never saw the point of playing minor characters. That's how I feel.

Ultimate mode its a league on its own ,it unlocks more and diferent pin-balling motions, as well as ki waves after combos. knowing wich atks will make ur oponent vunerable to ur coolest "finishing move", and making a dream come true!For the fast type chars press "A" A ThousAnd of times, And get ur self a neAt combo(Remember using rAdoken?...SAme deAl, looks Alot cooler, And obeserving ur oponents angry is actually enjoyable this time around)

when i bought mine it had vocals but if the U.S. had the vocals removed on bt3 why didn't they remove them from burst limit too?

I see what you mean, I would of preferred the Ki and Personalization systems they used in the Budokai series. I still however enjoy this game and I see true potential in a sequel.

I love both games and i agree with the video but to be fair,in order for bt3 to had become the beast it was, it had to go through years of enhancing and fixing (bt1, bt2) while burst limit was pretty bad ass right off the bat. I mean if you really look at it the game had SO much potential and if they only made another with the full story,decent modes, more characters and some enhancing and fixing here and there like with bt3 then it could of gave bt3 a real challenge but both games are epic.

Normally I would think that you shouldn't compare a 2-d fighter with a 3-d fighter but you did a very fair job judging these two. BL had the potential to be a good game but the broken system ruined any chance it had. And Final Flash was just bogus in BL.

Simple. They never announced a Burst Limit 2. Just like how they haven't announced that there will be three Raging Blast games.

Ok this comparison is in some way a little biased if I may say. The biggest reason is that both games are completely different in which BL retained a true fighting game style as where BT3 was more of a real-time rpg (yes I know sounds far fetched). Honestly that's the only reason I need to say this. You really can't compare the 2 because one took a different direction than the other and would just be copying off of the other's idea. In my honest opinion it was pretty to compare the games

Burst Limit is actually a nerfed Shin Budokai system. There were two of those games before Burst Limit was released. Not saying Burst Limit was bad, but it could have been much better if they had actually improved upon that engine rather than nerfing it.

Its also fun to use mainly grabs with doc.Gero or cell(1st and 2nd forms). u can steal Hp and ki, and use it rigth after the grab motion is done.geting over the barage of shots, and inutilizing ur enemy in orther to grab,is part of the show 24hour! "Pin-balling" gets so anoing at this times, cus u never have frekin ki enough to do it one more time. " Stop wasting ur HP and my ki, Im trying to steal urs here!"
