I know its all make-believe but when I watch stuff like this and see that the person is in immediate danger, I just can't help but think "Why aren't they getting the hell outta there?" I realize that's her man & all but at some point (as soon as I saw the shoe w/blood & got no response when calling his name) love be damned, I'd turn tail & get my ass outta there! As soon as I got to the top of those stairs, I'd run right through that ol' man and never look back!!! Lesson learned!!!😊

Didn't really explain the basement creature or the hostage at all. Film avoided going into the depth or identity of the Monster or it's hostage. What if those people just wanted to buy a T.V?

I think the point is that both the couple and the man are just genuinely bad people, and that the man would’ve still fed to the monster even if they were nice. The couple just thought that they were the ones in control in this situation, when an actuality they were the ones getting swindled this time.
