Joel is one of the most underrated geniuses on the planet. His sound is massive and his lines are freakishly clean and inspired, not to mention exciting as hell. I'm reading comments on here that are bitter, distasteful, misinformed, and just flat out wrong. I mean, who's this cat claiming that Joel is a Redman clone???? SERIOUSLY WHAT that's like comparing Dexter Gordon to Albert Ayler. I'm sorry I'm venting, KZbin is a wonderful and yet TWISTED place, and occasionally I find these human embodiments of terrible vibes, and I just wanted to go toe to toe with them and tell that that, not only are they wrong, they don't deserve to comment on musicians or the music, as the privilege is taken away given their disgusting, immature, and clueless approach to the jazz community. Jeol, if you read this, you are a big part of what I'm doing in the woodshed right now, and I can't tell you enough how much you mean to THE REAL community at large. Thank you for everything. JTB

Completly share your point of view, Jackson. His only problem may be: Too shy/too modest By the way: He is a very nice guy

Joel's solo on Sabah El Kheir was unbelievable. I was blown away. I loved that song so much that I wrote an arrangement of it for my group.

Freakin Awesome Quintet, incredible ensemble interaction.Great solos all around. Jason Lindner has a fantastic touch, I'm so used to listening to him playing Fender Rhodes/Synths that I sometimes forget about how much swing, dynamics he can inject into acoustic settings. Thanks for sharing.

@Raef Black: this is Joel Frahm. You of course are entitled to your opinion. Joshua and I are peers, and friends. If all you got from this was that I'm a "knock-off" of Josh- why don't you ask him what he thinks about that next time you see him?
@raefblack79069 жыл бұрын
because don't need redman to evaluate what I hear. I have been to this page onece an expressed an opinion net time don't @ me where I cant respond.

Mr. Frahm, don't worry. This unusually obstinate and ignorant fellow has been dismantled below. Please take no heed to his awful contributions to this forum

Seriously though, Raef- I know your criticism of me has created a lot of bad feeling here- I'm totally cool with your opinion. None of this is that big a deal. I have a feeling if we were all talking in person, there would be a better, more civil vibe. No ill will from me.
