It's because it averages out what the attack, midfield and defence rating is, if you only have 81 attack, 88 mid but 96 attack it will take the average down to like 87, but if you have 94 attack, 88 mid and like 88 defence, it will average to 91/92. Use the median/mean mathematic method and it all makes sense

The rating is based on Attack/Midfield/Defence!! Like on seasons each team has different, for example a team could have att 85 mid 86 def 87, that would mean their team rating would be 85!! It's the same with draft, so when you swap a lw with a mid for example, the midfield rating goes up alot for example 2 or 3 ratings and because you have so many wingers already on the bench, the attack only goes down a little bit for example 1 or 2 ratings. :)

The reason behind the rating thing has to do with position covering. If you have a bench filled with a single position it won't be as good as one that has players for different positions. I'm pretty sure the best you can do on the bench is 1GK, 1-2CB, 1LB/RB if you have 1 CB, 2-3 mids, 2 attack

Tom, the reason the rating goes up when you put a lower rated player on, is because the average rating of a certain position (in reevs case wingers) is already better than that players rating so it is lowering it. When you put Hamsik on the subs, it made the average midfield rating go up by more than Bale impacted the winger rating. 😃 You are welcome and Like so Tom can see!!!

Rating works like so: ordering the bench doesn't help, put the highest people on the bench and then swap two players round, that gives the highest rating. Having more wingers or defenders hasn't been proven to do anything, but might possibly be the more balanced the team the higher the rating

What they do is they average each position (attackers, mids, defenders/GK) and then add the averages up and divide that by 3 (amount of positions) so, if you have a bunch of attackers there are too many attackers to average which makes there more players to average on therefore lowering the average and then there is also not enough of another position therefore not have enough rating on a position to get a good average.

Cams counts as a mid and bale as a fwd. by taking off the fwd (89) you increase the attacker average. (as messi ibra ron are all 90+). When you put on hamsik although the mid average is still reduced, it is less of a reduction than the attack (as 84 is closer to the other mid ratings ((e.g. 88)) than bale is to ronaldo and messi)

The 'winger glitch' isn't actually a glitch, the team rating is made up of 3 things, attack, midfield and defence and by putting Hamsik on instead of Bale as Reev did, but I personally would've done it to Mkhitaryan, it increased the midfield rating but kept the attack rating at the same or maybe higher because it's taking the lower rated attacker off which would increase the average rating, and that's why you got a 192 (sorry about the essay lol XD)

For the rating it will calculate the average of the attack, midfield and the defence. Then it wil calculate the average of those three averages. That is your starting 11 rating. For the bench it works the same, so you have to have your highest rated players on the bench but also from all three sections in the field (attack,midfield,defence)

The rating rating works by average in each position...for example in the video you took bake off which didn't effect you attack cause it was already sick & putting hamsik in midfield bumped up your midfield rating

The glitch with the high rated players is you have in the draft summary defense-midfield- and attack overall When you had Bale and you replaced him for Hamsik that men that your midfield rating was higher but your attack ratin stayed the Same.

It's the overall rating of each section defence midfield and attack so if you have a low 99 average midfield it would be worth 33.3 rating same with forwards and defence(goalie is part of defence)

Its not the overall rating which counts, its the rating for each category attack midfield defense and then the average from that If you got a lot high rated wingers your attack might be 93 bur your defense 82, and now if you take 90 rated insigne out (hes high rated but lowers your attack average) and put pique 86 in, both of your categories go up even though you put in a lower rated card Loving the logic!
