Once all that black baby fur starts to turn brown the baby is no longer an infant , but is like a toddler that can forge on it's own and eat solid food. It should be out socializing with the rest of the troop. I've seen videos where the mother allowed juvenile aged monkeys to hang under their bellies, ride on their backs and nurse with a full mouth of teeth. Ouch! So if momma dosen't discipline with strength the monkey probably won't survive the merciless life of monkeys because the young one has been coddled to long.

I completely agree with this... thos seems to be why none of Jane's offspring survive past 2 in a half if lucky 3 years... the only one she has actually weaned and for the most part stuck to is jody... janet still nursed and was coddled till almost 2 in a half, then she was killed. Janna nursed just as long maybe a tad bit longer and she just recently passed away... if she is not careful, and if she doesn't get a hold on jazzy, I fear the same fate for her....

Mom weans them off milk to teach them how to forage, some are already foraging, but mom teaches them what they can eat. She will continue to nurse them , but not as often. Milk alone does not fill them up anyway. Mom wants to teach them survival skills to make it in the wild and independent.

I’ve seen some babies get the hint after just one day of this ritual here 😂 but others don’t mind getting banged around for begging to go to the milk bar. They take longer to get with the program. Days…weeks… but they all get it when they’re ready to. Also some moms don’t mind feeding their yearlings and so you’ll sometimes see a big fat one year old nursing. 😂 But all this is normal and once babies realize they’re not gonna die, they learn to walk beside her and to forage. 👍🐒✌️

It is a big monkey that has a mouth full of teeth. It should be foraging. If mom is pregnant, that monster will drink up all the milk. Mom needs to wean it to stop it from getting milk. Mom will decide when it can have some milk, but for now it has to stop taking milk.

Glad you asked her sometimes they will attack the Mama because she can't get that baby under control and you think that she's being mean if she don't then she'll get her butt messed up they have videos of that ask him to show them to you with a trooper attack the Mama because then the baby's hiding up under her she's trying to protect that thing with with her life in the meantime with the baby is being protected and not giving the damn about his mother and yes there are times that a alpha male or alpha female will attack her as well and if they get their hands on that baby they will kill it they don't want to hear all that squeaking and whining and crying all day like some of them do and then you think that it's wrong if something you think about how many have grown to adult not too many of them?

hen says it a few more time when momma shows that Velcro of a baby monkey that the milk bar is closed lol at it’s time to forage.and fend if for itself or else it’ll end up like SweetPea. Momma is actually being kind and patient because I’ve seen others Moms be way way way rougher when weaning. Can you imagine haven’t a toddler on your back or hanging off you then they want to be nursed with set of teeth. I myself wanted to stop nursing my baby due to the pain I had on and around my nipples and nor did I wear a bra or sports bra because of nipped were so sore and hurt. 80% of the time I cried while nursing.

@@dejapoo9367 yes it was awful but soon as it would start nursing and she would stare at me the pain would be pushed 2nd place due to the love and bonding at that moment would be 1st place. But soon as I would switch her to the other side I’d-feel the pain even if it was 2-3 seconds. Soon as Id put her to sleep or give her to her dad I would go and ice my nipples because they’d be on fire. Thank you for your sweet words.
