Hello i'm already seeing comments about War of Hormone and I know most people don't actually watch the whole video before commenting but I just wanted to say that I don't think ALL of the lyrics are problematic and that honestly it didn't really deserve all the hate it got because it is a REALLY good song. Compared to western artists or just all artist in general that have written songs similar to this....BTS was actually the least problematic in my opinion. REGARDLESS the main point that I wanted to hit in my reaction was that they publicly apologized and then later wrote 21st century girl. BTS isn't perfect and to be honest I don't really think they did anything too wrong here but their response is beyond mature and something that I wish most artist did. I still really enjoy the song and it is indeed a certified BOP! 💕

Hey! You said something about cussing and I might have nor understood if you found out but in Korean there's a word, 네가 which romanized is Nega (pronounced Nika) and it may sound similar to N-word bit it actually means "You". BTS actually during their tours even try changing the lyrics to not offend anyone with how similar they sound. As I mentioned earlier, I didn't understand if you meant that as the cuss you heard but I wanted to just let you know, sorry if I misunderstood 😅

About war of hormone, I really like this song a lot. I get why people feel this song is not great and offensive etc but I always saw the song as a representation of how teenage boys are full of hormones going crazy, almost as a satire of the whole teenage boy behavior. Also, they are all super O.O in this era. Tae in War of Hormone is a hazard. Boy need a full Caution yellow tape around him.

Hey Caitlin, love the reaction. I personally see nothing wrong with the lyrics of war of hormone. As the title of the song suggests it is written from the point of view of hormonal teen boys. It does not glorify the phase but lightly teases the young men with their immature thoughts and desires. forces that were hell bent on stopping the rise to success of BTS just chose to twist it into something offensive. If you compare it to what western artists and other kpop groups from the same time released text wise you would see how ridiculous the insinuations were.

I totally get your point and I don't see ALL of the lyrics problematic but definitely some. Honestly I don't get why the backlash was THAT bad because as you said western artist have done the same thing if not worse. My main point was that they addressed it and then later released 21 century girl to answer that and most artist don't even publicly address it let alone write another song that also addresses it.

@@caitlinbensonn this! I think it is okay to make mistakes and young ppl being stupid and immature is nothing new. Personally I found some early bts media disturbing, but knowing that they learned from their mistakes and genuinely listened to criticism AND made effort to be better and do better makes me able to enjoy their old content. Because I know it was just an act. Because I know now it was just a phase. And I respect them even more now because I know where they started and they show a good example to other artists too. So many artists well into their thirties and fourties are still stuck in the past and get offended at any form of criticism. Kudos to everyone that has it in them to change and grow!

All the negative attention made it impossible not to address it: a young group from a small company would have a hard time already surviving and this could have ended the group had they reacted differently. The experience unfair as it is definitely made them think and avoid similar situations further on in their career. They always turn what their haters throw at them into something positive.

Dark and Wild was their best era tbh. It has the best intro (still my favorite RM solo on any BTS album), Danger's choreo was iconic, the bad boy looks fit them super well (the guyliner ! all the leather ! Jungkook's torn sweater in WoH ! Jimin's highly slappable ass in those red pants !), and the songs were all great. Tbh half of my enjoyment of TxT's 0x1=Lovesong comes from the fact that it's a full on throwback to this (and knowing that they asked RM to write the lyrics... my man's still the same emo teen at heart).

Yay! We’ve made it here! I love this album so much. Hip Lover is one of my favorites! Also, the way my teacher taught us about Korean age is it’s about experiencing the year when you’re born. Think of the year you were born as you experiencing that entire year. So for example Tae was born 12/30/95 and was considered 1 because He experienced the year of 1995. Then when the year flipped to 1996 he was considered 2 because He experienced the year 1996. (Even though he was literally 2 days old lol) On your birthday you celebrate but your age doesn’t change. I hope that helps!
