Not sure if you picked up on it, as it wasn't in your edit, but the Ghoul that says 'That's her' at the Observatory was the Ghoul that said thank you at the super duper mart. And as well, you were too shook by Barb's 'Drop the Bomb ourselves' comment to notice, but Coop called the woman he had been talking to 'Betty', the younger version of the future 33 Overseer :D Such a good finally. Full of easter eggs for game players, but still riveting and coherent for those who hadn't played the games. For example, the skull in the desert was that of a Deathclaw.... one of the most frightening things you encounter in the games. 'War never Changes' is part of the monologue introducing each of the games. And as somebody else mentioned, all the horrible ideas for vaults they mention are actual vaults that you can find and explore in the games.

The city shown at the end is New Vegas, which is a big deal because the game Fallout: New Vegas is a fan favorite in the series. Also the man with the moustache in the board meeting is Robert House, casino owner and head of Robco, who manufacture many of the robots we see in the series, as well as the pip-boys. He is a major character in Fallout: New Vegas, and so far, the only character from the games that has appeared in the show.

I have to say that you are one of the more fun reactors to this series that I have seen, and that is saying something because everyone is pretty fun! It looked, though, like there was a question about the casino remark... the implication being that only a person of extremely diminished intellectual capacity could lose money running a casino. What's that? Oh, you got that implication already? Oh, well then I guess... never mind. I will say that it is fun having someone guide us through all of the nuances in filmmaking that may otherwise be lost. For example, when the final song ("We Three") plays, I thought it was mostly about Cooper (who truly is feo, fuerte, y formal as a ghoul, btw..), Lucy his echo in anger, and Dogmeat (CX404/the puppy) his shadow who follows him everywhere! I never thought about associating it with Maximus, Lucy and The Ghoul, but it works too!

I’m not 100% sure but I believe the ghouls were being used to make ghoul juice in ep4. Maybe that’s why cooper ate Rodger in the beginning 🤔 in the games people either die or become a ghoul from the radiation due to a natural mutation in some people, but when they become a ghoul it’s an automatic feral or not-feral. The ghoul juice is a new concept to the fallout lore.

"That's how Vault-Tec deals with competition, just like they did 200 years ago." Moldaver (Miss Williams in the past) was a witness to the history of the start of the war. Vault-Tec didn't have to drop all the bombs, just one (probably in the US). That would be enough to cause a retaliatory strike by the US on China, and China on the US in return. Once Shady Sands made itself known, Hank ordered the city destroyed, again only needing one nuke. I believe Vault-Tec did start the war, but depended on the high tensions between the US and China to ensure they would follow through . . . excellent review of the series! You can see Ella Purnell in her new series Sweetpea. It's quite a different role from Lucy . . .
@andrewdemarco35122 сағат бұрын
but would Barb have started the war knowing her daughter was out there and might get nuked? I think they intended to start it, but China beat them to it. Its hard to say, but I like that they are keeping that mystery vague as its something that's been debated for a long time in the fandom.

While Vault Tec was definitely evil enough to start the great war, we still don't know with certainty they did. Watch the credits. (Some of) The answers are there. Fallout lore is that becoming a ghoul is related to exposure to radiation. Is Thaddeus a ghoul or did Max just think that's what he became? There are..... other substances in Fallout that could also explain what happened (is happening?) to Thad. 😉

It brings everything together perfectly, all the things that hit different now, and the good guy bad guy swap twist that is very hard to see coming. Moldaver turns out to be a great character, one of my favourites now. How Moldavar is alive is most likely cryo-freezing, but is a mystery. "War... war never changes" Is kind of the Fallout motto. It's said in the intro of nearly all Fallout games. The vaults are experiments, except around 17 'control vaults' that did function as advertised. Vault 8 from Fallout 2 is one of these. The original idea for Fallout 1 was that the vaults served as tests for creating a colony ship if Earth became uninhabitable. This has slowly changed to be more sinister. People turn into ghouls from high amounts of radiation. The ghoul serum thing is newer. imo Coop became a ghoul from being in the blast in the first episode, his wife is in Vault 31, and his daughter could be either or dead. I never liked the idea that Vault-Tec dropped the bombs, it just doesn't make sense to me. No one is buying vaults after that. Those helicopter-VTOL-aircraft the Brotherhood uses are called Vertibirds

"No one is buying vaults after that." No one knew they were responsible. Even gamers only figured it out relatively recently in the timeline of the games.

So in game canon there are several ways The Great War could have started. 1: China starts the war 2: US starts the war 3: The war was a massive accident. A radar tech in Alaska mis-identifies an object on his radar as incoming Chinese missiles and the US retaliates to a believed strike. Opps, my bad. 4: Vault Tec starts the war. and 5... aliens. No really. There are aliens (Zetans) in the Fallout world.

That scene where Cooper snags the fusion core beneath the Observatory and the lights go out reminds me of actually playing Fallout. I've set up some ambushes like that myself. Just like you don't F with Couriers in the Mojave Wasteland or Lone Wanderers in the Capitol Wasteland, apparently you don't mess with old ghouls in the New California Wasteland.

In the first episode, there's a brief shot of Lucy and Hank watching a cowboy movie together!

I am as excited to see what happens next as you.. maybe something to do with one of the guys in the big meeting :)

Yes, except for destroying the NRC, it's a good show.

One of the Fallout games Fallout: New Vegas takes place in the ruins of Las Vegas. That is what hank was walking towards at the end. The tower that looks like the space needle is called the Lucky 38 Casino

That town at the end is the name of one of the best installments of the Fallout games. I'd love to see what it looks like now.
