mother 3 isn't really a direct continuation of earthbound, but it does take place after it. it's a completely different cast of characters and locations, (except for a few) so it's a fresh experience. it may bit a bit jarring at first, but you'll get used to after a little bit. it's alot more story based than earthbound, and has far better characters and gameplay in my opinion, (not to say that earthbound's are bad) and i would definitely recommend it to someone who has played earthbound and still has it fresh in their mind. it's also like in my top 5 games of all time so yeah

What I love about the cave of the past / present is that theoretically you could go back to present time and still see the bodies of the robots (probably rusted) with ness's cap all dusty and such. Just something to think about.

If thats the case then I was expecting her to be built like flying man but whatever thats still sick. Yub I just want to thank you for diving into the Earthbound series when the series has been dormant for years after the 3rd game and with no promising future after the death of Satoru Iwata who vouched for bringing earthbound to the states in the first place. Although there is no hope for the series to ever receive attention (I mean its not even on the switch's snes online service yet) and gain the respect it deserves especially Mother 3, people like you who go out of their way to play a game like Earthbound at this time is just amazing to see. Man! This was worth the wait! I'm really glad you got to play Earthbound! Also I wanna clarify a few things if you see this: Earthbound/Mother 2 is a sequel to Earthbound Beginnings/Mother 1. Mother 3 is a sequel to Earthbound/Mother 2. There hasn't been an official Western English release by Nintendo for Mother 3. But there is a complete fan-translation of the game that is SUPER well done! Either way, I can't wait to see more long series game plays like this! 👍🏽

Never played the game myself, but I've seen playthroughs where Giygas just _destroyed_ players with his utterly random attacks, one poor guy got all his party solidified, one of them being Ness, with the 4th receiving mortal damage. Thankfully, he recovered and finished the fight. Wish I could remember who that was I watched, that was years ago.

amazing, I never thought I’d live to see the day my favorite youtuber does a complete play through of one of my favorite games it honestly doesn’t even feel like a whole year has passed since you started this series, it’s like I watched the first episode just a few days ago... congratulations YuB! and you should totally play Mother 3, it’s a lot more story-based than earthbound but if you have the patience the ending is absolutely worth it

the cave before Giygas theme is sampled in the laboratory from Undertale. On a separate note; you should definitely play the sequel, Mother 3. It never officially got released in English, but the fan translation is pretty great.

Mother 3 is moreso an indirect continuation to Earthbound. It has a brand new cast with a brand new more investing story, however it also touches on elements from Earthbound's story and serves as an ending to Earthbound in a few ways. It's a lot more story based than Earthbound and consistently keeps you invested, I highly recommend it as its a must play for anyone who enjoyed Earthbound. It's one of my personal favorite games of all time.

Hey YuB, Mother 3 takes place about 1000 years in the future(I might be wrong but oh well). You play as Lucas and have to explore the Nowhere islands. I’m keeping this spoiler free if you do want to play it....or not. Anyways, Mother 3 does focus on Pokey and what happened to him. That’s about it. I loved this series and I look forward to the next on (supposing you do another one)!

man in my first time i didn't paid attention to pokey's talk and i used everything that i had and i decided to use Paula's pray because i really felt helpless and i felt like i did a ton of giygas and it didn't seem to be near death.

the goal of the developers had to be to have people completely spend trying to kill gygas and then just try pray as a last ditch effort cause they cant kill the boss. I do know he is unkillable without prayer. The brainshock find is sweet though!

Mother 3 is a different cast but there are some familiar faces from Earthbound. Definetly play it sometime, but it doesn't have to be right away. You should hold true to your promise and play Phoenix Write Ace Attorney. Those are story based and they are mostly all linked together... And there isn't any leveling involved. Just a thought. Lastly, thank you for finishing this game. I grew up watching my older brother play it and many years later i best it myself. I think you had a lot of luck on your side. Oh, and the song from the soundstone is called Smiles and Tears. You can look it up. You might just find my old channel. Thank you, again.
