@@flybubblecarlo Yeah, but apart from laying it out in the gym for a good look at our reserve repack day, it's stayed in the bag. The weather here in Tassie (Tasmania) would shit you to tears; certainly does me at times. Laid it and my AD Vivo L (V1) out and the differences in flat plan (Beat 2 is a 26) are quite marked: B2 has a larger span (

Ooooh! This is the review I've been waiting for! I knew Flybubble would not disappoint. I've been flying the Beat Light (in big part because of the Flybubble review) and loving it. Interested to see how the Beat 2 compares. Now to the video

Great review, as always.👏What is the difference in flying the wing compared to the Tenor 2? According to specs, it has a slightly higher AR and 6 more cells. For progressing pilots getting their first low/mid B wing, what would you suggest? They both look ultra safe and good progression wings, so how to choose?
@carloborsattino88153 ай бұрын
Hi. The Beat 2 and Beat 2 light are mid B wings, not generally recommended as a first wing. The Tenor 2 and Tenor 2 light are low B wings, recommended as first wings for talented and ambitious beginners (like all low B wings). PHI Tenor 2 Light review - KZbin: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pH3KeH98rMygmZI

How does it compare to the Tenor 2 / Tenor 2 Light?
@flybubblecarlo3 ай бұрын
Compare this to our quick review of the Tenor 2 Light, which also effectively covers the Tenor 2 since they are essentially the same wing made with different materials and behave the same except the usual differences between standard and light versions (as we've tested and can confirm) kzbin.info/www/bejne/pH3KeH98rMygmZI

I have flown my Tenor 2 light for a year now and just tried the Beat 2 light yesterday for a quick test flight. First impression is that these are two totally different wings: Tenor 2 light is more like a fun sports car (a tick too much for my taste when combined with my pod harness) whereas the Beat 2 light seems more like a luxurious limousine. Beat feels more B-ish than Tenor, though. Yet to be tried in thermal conditions, though.

Curious to know what you thought of the brake line length? Did you fly with a wrap?

As with most wings, a half wrap works best.

Can You compare Beat2 vs Chili5?
@flybubblecarlo12 күн бұрын
Both great wings, but quite different and not really the same class, easy mid B vs high B. The pilot demands of the Beat 2 are significantly lower. The Beat 2 is more playful, responsive and agile. The performance is very similar. Glide and sink rate are very similar. Not surprising when you consider that the Chili 5 came out in 2021. The top speed of the Chili 5 might be a bit higher, not sure right now. The handling of the Beat 2 gives it an advantage when thermaling, especially with narrow and difficult cores. Did anybody fly the Beat and the UP Lhoste2 and share his experience? On the paper the Lhotse doesnt look bad either. But can it keep up with the Phi Gliders?
@notafanatic3 ай бұрын
While not a direct comparison, I have flown the kibo2 and beat, I'd say the beat is slightly more talkative than the kibo but I prefer the handling of the UP, it has a really progressive turn and as is very predictable, the beat is a bit more agile and rolly. Performance wise, I don't think there is much in it. On bar is when you can feel these wings losing out to higher rated wings.
@adrianveit49303 ай бұрын
@@notafanatic thanks a lot for answering. That's good to know. Because all over the internet People are loving the phi Gliders and I wasn't sure if I would miss something flying a wing like the UP. But sounds like the Lhotse ore Kibo are competitive and handle even nicer.

Why don't you guys hold in the Side collapses in all of your tests?
@flybubblecarlo3 ай бұрын
If we were doing a video on safety training then we'd do that, plus a whole lot more (if someone wants to fund us doing that, we would love to). For wing reviews, we try to focus on sharing our views on things you can't tell from reading the product info and checking the EN and LTF flight tests.
@flybubblecarlo3 ай бұрын
As for holding in asymmetric collapses on the Beat 2 and Beat 2 Light, from my testing the behaviour is so good i.e. benign and forgiving that it actually made me laugh. 😆 On this note, from my testing of the Beat 2 and Beat 2 Light, they behave better in collapses and other SIV manoeuvres than some low B wings (not the Tenor 2 or Tenor 2 Light, which are even more forgiving). They are really amazingly well behaved, I found. Having said this, due to their a bit higher aspect ratio, and more responsive and dynamic handling, we put the pilot demands of the Beat 2 and Beat 2 Light as mid B (easy mid B). They are ideal as second wings for most pilots. For many pilots they offer everything you could possibly want in one wing, we feel. 🤓

Help help. I bought an epsilon 9 and one of the reasons I bought the epsilon 9 is the handbook online said "this Wing will fly you better through turbulent conditions with the pilots hands up. However we recommend active flying" I'm flying at the very end of the weight range for being too heavy. So will this wing fly through turbulence with my hands up? I talked to a lot of pilots that came to the school to fly and they said basically, it would get very energetic and it blew off energy, and if I watched and kept it from shooting and gift wrapping me, the rest was just a minor pilot error. Since most accidents are caused by pilot error.
