I remembered you were not too impressed with Dream's killing voice. Glad you give them another hears. Their titles songs are super non general public taste (i probably also heard them too much being streaminv for music shows) but these songs are really "majestic" in stadium concerts. Imagine smoothie's high notes with firework in front of 40K to 50K screaming audience with their light sticks!!

Yes this channel definitely needs the 1590 views from this video... No, seriously... if you remember then a year ago when I watched the kv I was 99% into girl groups only and was not accustomed to male voices in kpop at all. Just dived into Stray Kids back then and that was about it... I still don't really like what they did on the killing voice, although I do get the vibe of some of the songs now. In the meantime I have gotten into Exo, Seventeen and many other male groups and I have come to like a lot of things that didn't feel right a year ago. So when Smoothie was dropped I wanted to give them another chance and listened to it. And to my surprise the music was good. My reaction back then was not super negative.... I just didn't like it and stated that fact. I said it sounded all very mainstream.... but ppl don't understand that mainstream is not negative. Everything we hear on the radio is Mainstream. Mainstream is what most of everything is that has come to be popular for the general public. It is not bad - it is normal.... Normal is not bad. Mainstream is what keeps industries running and what gets the money. Why are so many title tracks of album a bit more "boring" than the b-sides.... because the most mainstream songs are there to promote the album to the masses... The real fans then go to the b-sides to get that creative kick that would only work for the fans. But to get the largest general attention the song released first must be one for the masses so that everybody, even a non fan, might like it. The killing voice was filled with their mainstream songs.... Which is - once again - not negative or bad. But it didn't touch me. And I actually didn't like the high vocals back then. And I still say - even now with groups I like (Exo, Stray Kids, Seventeen, SB19) I still say that I prefer the mid range vocals and that I am happy they don't always hit the high notes all the time. Me liking Twice (being cute and having cute songs) is something completely different. I still prefer female voices over male voices. And as for them being cute and girly and actual women and all ... Yea, I have my preferences. But no the video here is not for the views.... being a musician myself and having broadened my horizon in the last year I am trying them again with a new set of ears and a new mindset on it all....
