Ignorance or stupidity is not an excuse. Figure it out or pay the consequences. Being unfamiliar with something means taking extra precautions until you figure it out, not disregarding it hoping everyone else knows what to do. If something works everywhere else but where you are, it's not the problem, your people are.

I have noticed that when two vehicles are across from each other at a 4 way stop, 1 turning left and the other going straight though, the 1 going straight always wants the other to turn left in front of him first. Is this a Canadian politeness thing or what. It messes up the whole system of order.

As a retired truck driver myself I gotta say those were some real pros in this video. Just how many red cones does it take before you back off of the throttle just a little? There must have been a corn dog special going on at the next Flying-J or their flip flops got jamed in the pedal somehow.

And yes, there are stupid people out there driving like my Aunt did in 1994. We were driving on an interstate highway in Tennessee when she noticed that she missed an exit ramp a few miles back. When another exit ramp came up, she took it but stopped dead in the middle of the road because she couldn't figure out where we were. I yelled at her to get our asses off the road and on to the shoulder before someone rear ends us at 65 mph. She moved alright, but slowly. That was scary.

I hate to say, but this video really makes clear that the American truckers are not the best truckers in the world. In a lot of cases they just ignore the trouble they can already see from miles away. And it also looks like these American trucks don't have the best brakes either. Our European trucks are braking a lot harder, with heavier loads

For all the new professional drivers out there, this is genuine advice from a driver of 15 years. 1. Keep a large stopping distance from the vehicle infront of you. If you feel like you have enough space from the car in front of you, you dont, give at least 3 more car lengths on top. 2. If you see something ahead of you do something, don't assume that it won't become your problem 3. Semi truck tires are rated for 75 mph cruise speed on non recapped tires with half tread depth or more. If recapped dont cruise faster then 70mph 4. Easy way to tell if your on ice. If The roads look wet The temperature is 34 or below and there isnt any water spraying up from the tires of passing cars you are on ice and need to exit the freeway immediately. It isnt worth it. 5. DON'T GET EMOTIONAL BEHIND THE WHEEL You are driving a 40 ton death machine, a flick of the wrist can kill someone 6. Buy a gladhand air hose at any truckstop, it'll be the best money you'll ever spend.

I think the Altima stopped because it was making a left turn or U-turn, given the active signal. Ram driver couldn't see the turn signal and was probably staring at the Altima driver like "What are you doing?", and didn't make another check to his left. Probably assumed the semi was going to be slowing down/stopping behind the Altima and never gave it a second look.

4:27 what happened? Why is there commentary if we can plainly see what occured, yet no explanation when we see a truck swerve as if undecided or unaware of his surroundings and no conflict occurred? Is this the truckers fault, a cut off offscreen? What happened? Some videos have lifestory chapters written for a 4 second video and others have us rewinding over and over again thinking, "did i miss something?". Case in point,at 6:03, why? No contact we are are aware of, no explanation, just hit guardrail and drift to right lane with a jeep also stopping? Involved, witnesses, just good Samaritans? What happened?

I see a lot of preventable accidents, if you're a truck driver than put the phone away, and pay attention to the road, I started driving in 1989 and it ended in 1995 then I started again in 2005 and finally quit for good in 2016, I put in over 2,000,000 miles and had no accidents, the tickets I got was for over hours, obstructing traffic, that one I was passing another truck, and it was stay in the passing lane or crash two trucks, and I got one for being in a no truck area, that according to the GPS I had to go down to make the pickup, and I can say the drivers today have it easy, when we had paper logs you drove illegally or you got fired, been there, with Elogs if you drive illegally the DOT will catch you when they do an audit, so you have to drive legal, and dispatch can't force you to drive illegally
