Bob Dylan....hippest dude on the planet for over 60 years!

He is the poet of our lives - He is a Nobel Prize winner in literature and considered one of the greatest - if not, the greatest - songwriters of all time. Although one of his most popular songs, you've just scratched the surface of what Dylan has to offer. There are too many to name and I'm sure you'll be inundated with requests and suggestions so here are just a few that pop into my mind at the moment - If Not For You, Masters of War, It's Alright Ma (I'm Only Bleeding), Lay Lady Lay, Forever Young, Spanish Boots of Spanish Leather . . . Enjoy this amazing ride - he is truly a treasure.

This song comes from the mid-1960s, and Bob is still touring. He influenced almost everyone in the 60s and beyond, from The Beatles to Jimi Hendrix. Bob is a legend, one of the greatest singer/songwriters in American History. He is originally from Minnesota.

The chat have proffered many excellent Dylan songs so I will add a strange one for you, "Blind Willie McTell" - a track that was left off an early Eighties album but eventually turned up having been recorded with just Bob and Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits) very late one night.

There are arguments lately that dylan is more accomplished and influential than even Shakespeare. Well,...indeed they will be talking dylan 500 years from now...not Taylor swift, Sinatra, Elvis, and Mike Jackson . I can't disagree with that!

Because so many artists have copied him and his style, young people dont realise how much of a trend setter he was.

I'm gonna be just as colonial as the other idiots and apologize for their colonialism. Yeah Dylan is world famous so what? What i loved about your reaction is the fact that you knew pretty quick that this was boundary breaking special music. Rest assured that while he is famous and important etc, the die hard fans are a much smaller lot. Most folks find his voice annoying, he mumbles etc. He is a genius imo. His songwriting is among the best of the second half of the twentieth century.
