It’s crazy that I’ve watched (G)I-DLE’s entire journey from debut to now. I can’t believe how much they’ve grown and how much they’ve been through. From their humble beginnings, next to nothing budget given to them by CUBE, Soyeon taking on writing their debut song and it becoming a huge hit, losing a member due to a huge scandal right at the beginning of their peak, taking a prolonged hiatus, and coming back as one of the biggest 4th gen heavy hitters. Incredible.

I just want to shamelessly praise the girls for singing "I'm hot, my boob and booty's hot" because, if you know anything about Korean standards of beauty, you'd know that it is all about being pale/thin and having a tiny waist. So the fact that the lyrics specifically mention boobs and booty instead of thin body and fair skin, I just love it. It fills me with joy as a curvier woman myself who's not thin and not pale. After hearing so many Blackpink songs talking about being rich and skinny, finally I can enjoy a good old song about boobs and butts. It's perfect🤣

Fun fact when they are singing "im a queen card" the way its spelled is "kwinka" which in korean means the " it girl " or someone who is popular and loved like influencers (minnie and miyeon are both popular in social media on the mv ) also their mini album is a card game box Gidle are always so creative with their comebacks

Oooh, thank you for this!! It confused me why they didn't pronounce "D" in "Queen Card" when they sing nearly perfect English otherwise. Soyeon even say "Queen Card" properly when she jumps into the pool seconds after singing "kwinka" so it makes so much more sense to know that it's an intended play on words.

OH MY GOD YESSS!!! I enjoy your girl group reactions so much literally and with gidle too! At first listen the song didn't stuck to me but now I literally cant stop singing the chorus especially the hook. Gidle really never fails to bring absolute banger songs and deliver on their concepts. They said they wanted a fun, refreshing, 2000s Y2k style song and they really just went a 100. Not to mention the message too, like, its so fun AND positive!!!!

I’m so glad you loved it! When they say “I feel you” at the end, literally almost makes me cry everytime. It just hits women how we feel. And there’s so many Y2K movie references (and me who graduated in 2000 is making me feel a little old lol). I think I caught a Wild Things reference when they showed Soyeon in the pool too. I did some research and this video is based on the movie I feel pretty. If you look closely every time you see Minnie following the end of that scene you immediately see a flash of Soyeon. It’s also why you’ll see Minnie a lot even though Soyeon is the one singing at the time. Minnie is who she believes she looks like now, even though, as we find out, she did not go through the plastic surgery. So basically everything happened because she had more confidence in herself, believing that she looked prettier. Remember, how in the allergy video when she left the plastic surgery center and they confronted each other wearing the same thing and Minnie asked do you want to look like I do? That is what led to this video. She believes that she went through the plastic surgery, even though she ended up waking up before it even took place.

Nice! Glad you reacted to this! --- Yep! You got it. Very specifically, Soyeon said at the debut showcase that you are at your most beautiful when you are confident. This comeback really reframes that the fancy clothes, pretty face, hot body are secondary to who you are inside. The outro's lines say a Queencard can wear whatever, can be skinny/overweight, but is ultimately confident. --- The entire MV is a throwback to highteen movies/shows in the Y2k period. I don't think there were any overt references, but Miyeon posing in the red dress early on in the video is the same pose Regina George does in Mean Girls when she shows off her Halloween costume. --- You should definitely check out their recent Killing Voice appearance. It really shows off the diversity of their discography, their confidence, and their live vocal ability.

I also think you should give Idle's B sides and older songs more of a chance. Like their calmer songs. HWAA, Put it Straight (original and Nightmare version of Queendom), Dhalia (written and co produced by Minnie), Blow your Mind (also written by Minnie), Maybe (with a real cool production), or their new song Paradise (a b side from their new album release). (G)I-Dle is definitely not just cool concepts, MV's and badass songs. They also have really beautiful deep stuff that is worth checking out, and maybe it'll click for you... oh wow, I'm basically rooting sooo much for it to happen, I gotta admit... watching you react to I-dle is one of my absolute favorite things! I can't say if this is 100% true, but ever since we've been getting pre-releases for comebacks, the songs maybe vaguely connected to the title, but not really all that much. With Allergy and Queencard there is zero doubt that they are about each other. As it is to two big examples I can think of this year from TWICE and IVE used their pre-release as... I don't know. Moonlight Sunrise was just a cool song next to Set Me Free and Kitsch was from another planet away from I AM. I have to wonder if other groups are paying attention and will start using that gimmick to flesh out their comebacks?
