OMIŠ PARAGLIDING - CROATIA

Davna želja napokon ostvarena. Jedan od najljepših terena u Hrvatskoj ali i šire, čarobni Omiš. Hvala Vinko na pozivu napokon se sve poklopilo. Omiš je čudo! Osobno nebi preporučio početnicima da tu lete, start je poprilično strm, sletište je gradska plaža koja je u ljetnom periodu krcata ljudima, također jači maestral može stvarati probleme od poletišta do plaže kao i pri samom slijetanju, a ako je slab onda isto nije dobra situacija :) treba dobro proučiti prognozu i startati u povoljnom intervalu vjetra. Ako je gužva na plaži stadion je dobra opcija.

Omiš take off is easily accessible via 300 m long hiking trail on a steep slope of rocky Omiš Dinara range. It is suitable for West wind direction (preferably "mistral" warm sea breeze, similar to phoen in valleys). Take off category/classification is C (intermediate to experienced pilots). Hey man nice flight well done. I'm going to be in split in July for a bachelors week. I'm thinking about getting my glider with me for a flight in Omis. What are the conditions like in July? Is it flyable often? What about access? I heard takeoff is a 20 minute walk? Might be an issue in the heat of July. Thanks

Hello colleague :) Omiš is magical, we have a practice of flying there in autumn or spring when it is not too hot and when there are not many people on the beach (landing). But you fly there in all summer months, you need to contact the club that has a concession on that hill (takeoff), they also provide transportation. You should pay attention to the weather conditions, never fly if there is a strong MAESTRAL forecast (west). I'm here for any help, I can refer you to the locals.
