This is the only channel where the vaccinated and the unvaccinated agree and disagree politely ( sometimes we do disagree harshly). The main reason is Dr J. Campbell, for his thoughtful, ethical, objective, considerate, observant, unbias analysis etc. If the Governments and the world leaders approach this pandemic like Dr John, This pandemic would have been a lesser pandemic that we can live with. Thank You Very much Dr John Campbell.

My wife just recovered from Omicron, here in South Africa: Age: 29 Vaccination status: Double vaccinated (Pfizer) Symptoms: Headache, followed by sore muscles, and tiredness Timeframe: Estimating 4-5 days incubation, followed by around 48 hours of actually feeling ill. Recovered very quickly, she's back at it already.

@@fixyourfoci based on symptoms... and through genomic sampling among population when 90+% of recent samples came back Omicron. It can be inferred that 90+% of new cases would be Omicron as well. We still need another 1-2 week to conclude whether Omicron would contribute to hospitalization or not. Usually severe cases would be observed after 5-7 days of showing mild symptoms. If it turned out to be mostly mild cases, we might see the end of tunnel where Omicron is now comparable to common flu in term of severity. Thus, the pandemic might end sooner. But, if it isnt then yeah we are going to be under prolonged pandemics.

Glad to hear about “aspiration” success. When my mom got her shot, she paid attention to what her Dr was doing after I had told her about it and when she saw that he aspirated the needle, she asked him about it and also mentioned that most of the world has abandoned that procedure. He said “That’s how I was taught, that’s how I will continue to do it.”

Finished nursing school recently and was literally taught to only aspirate in the other major muscles (thigh, ventrogluteal, etc) but that deltoid was unnecessary due to less major blood vessels being there. Just in case people are wondering why many don't. I disagree especially with this "vaccine" but this is taught in many, if not most, places.

I am sick and tired of hearing the b******* in the news. This Man simply stayed with the facts of how his symptoms were no more than a cold, everyone treated themselves as if it was a flu with a little bit of extra and everyone got through it just fine! This new variant is even less of a health risk and people need to realize that there is no fear to be had here unless you are of a very high risk category! You got to have some serious problems before you die from this disease that don't belong to this disease. Thank you sir

Second shot she asked again to aspirate the nurse yelled and swore at her, gave her the shot and then aspirated after and smartly said is that what you want. My advice to anyone that has someone that reacts that way is walk out, don’t let them give you the shot. Ask immediately for their supervisor. If one listeners all the way through including from the beginning, you'll learn that Daryl's partner contracted Delta with mild symptoms whilst being un-vaccinated, they did follow a protocol including vitamin C. This shows that they have applied early intervention which assisted them. After the double vaccination they both got Omicron and had mild symptoms and applied a protocol. I personally believe the vaccine did not do much for their health. In fact when Daryl was not vaccinated and his partner got Delta he did not get sick because he followed commonsense when living with a person who is sick.

Hello, quick question. I live in South Africa and when we get our covid results, they do not tell us which variant we have. The labs only tell us if we have covid or not. If we try phoning Lancet or Pathcare (our main processors), they simply cannot give us answers. How do we know which variant we have if our labs do not tell us? I had what I assume was "Delta" in July and I had all of these exact symptoms. I'm starting to feel like all of these variants are just lies to keep us in fear.

Hi from Canada 🇨🇦. I don’t know how your systems work but in Canada it works like this. The regular labs test for the presence or absence of Covid. They then forward the positive specimens to a reference lab (Provincial Lab) for further variant testing. Not all specimens are tested further but a decent representation because of the cost and the testing and the huge specialized staffing requirements necessary to do this testing. The variant testing is used by infection control people to follow the path of the viruses. This is done for Influenza testing too. The type of variant while interesting to know doesn’t change the outcome of your illness. This additional testing may not happen for a few days or even a week later. Then the patient may find out the variant involved, if their specimen was further tested and if their physician feels they should know. I know this because I’m a lab technologist and my lab would forward the specimens on to the Provincial lab and later receive the results to report. Hope that helps.

In the beginning of the pandemic, several experts theorized that past coronaviruses likely started off much more severe and killed many people, but through a combination of immune memory and viral mutations, those viruses simply evolved into the common cold. They hypothesized that the same thing would likely happen with Sars-Cov-2; it would become endemic and cause only mild illness. It's quite possible we are seeing that happen in front of our eyes. Omicron could be that hypothesized mutation. We shall see. I, for one, choose to be an optimist.
@MartinH81
@MartinH81 2 жыл бұрын
It is known that this accounts for many viruses. There's seemingly a trade-off between infectiousness and virulence. If a virus is too virulent it's transmission reduces and it becomes extinct. Competition with other strains (omicron competes delta now) can not be based on virulence, because the most virulent version will lose to the less virulent one, because too many hosts will be killed. Eventually the most transmissible and least virulent version "wins", becomes relatively harmless and endemic. In a nutshell. MERS, covid's brother/sister (whichever you like), is the most recent example of how a corona virus loses a key function due to a mutation (furin cleavage site) and like the snap of a finger disappears from the surface of the world. There are 2 scenario's in my eyes: this too will happen to covid-19 (omicron already has 3 mutations in furin cleavage site) or as you say it will become endemic and harmless after several rounds of re-infections (alpha, delta, omicron...). Vaccines are useful to reduce virulence, but natural immune responses are more sustainable (temporal) and much broader (greater variety of antibodies + other immune compartments are also activated which are not activated with a vaccine. Think of sinuses, lungs, gut, IgA response etc.).

My name is François, from South Africa. Dr Campbell, can you kindly review the unique Cuban vaccines, including the current phase 2 nasal vaccine (given the virus's entry through the nasal cavity), which is one of five Cuban vaccines. Two of the vaccines, Abdala and Soberana 2 finally received regulatory approval in July and August respectively. The unique Cuban vaccines are the first Covid 19 vaccines based on the traditional protein vaccines as we have come to know vaccines for decades, as opposed to the experimental mRNA vaccines. Cuba is now one of the few low-income countries to have not only vaccinated the majority of its population but the only one to have done so with a vaccine it developed on its own. Since September, Cuba's been in the process of getting World Health Organization approval for its vaccines, which would open the door to its widespread adoption.

He’s already vaccinated twice, both of them got COVID. It won’t be natural immunity maybe acquired immunity for this particular variant. His partner had both Delta and Omicron and now he has Omicron. They must be disappointed catching the virus despite being double vaccinated (aspiration) and now with another of its new variant but yet are grateful it’s relatively mild though unpleasant. To me what I take is that (only from this video is that it’s no better no worse than Delta but will create another wave like they are seeing, 136 cases to over 4,000 in weeks. Him and his wife are also an example that their symptoms are manageable. Due to vaccination? Would they have been ok without? All that matters is that they are well.

@marklemont3735 2 жыл бұрын
@@Sambell3936 yes, I think both are grateful they could “weather the storm” if you will, and it sounds like the symptoms lasted a week or less. The purpose of the vaccines is to lessen the severity if someone does contract it and hopefully keep them from needing more extensive help for the hospital staff, thus allowing the ER to be for other typical types of emergencies and to allow doctors to attend to scheduled elective surgeries.

We did not even suspect it was C19 because this was BEFORE the news broke. The guy with the sick wife stayed home for a day to look after her. He did not catch it. She recovered without treatment All 3 are now recovered. Most prevalent symptom was a headache and lethargy. Maximum recovery time - 6 days (only one of the three).So far nobody else has had it. A non event basically. The guy who took longest to recover (6 days) also had the worst headache and fever. Because of this he started to take "that which may not be mentioned but which is popular and obtainable in South Africa". But in my opinion almost too late (4th day) He says it definitely helped. Pamela Smith-Lawrence Health Director, Botswana “So far, what we are seeing from most of the contacts of these first 19 cases, most of them have tested negative and we are continuing to follow them up during their quarantine period. To say on completion of quarantine, have they actually incubated the virus but so far all the contacts have tested negative and most of the cases themselves, really nobody had any symptoms. One or two people might’ve had a few mild flu-like symptoms but resolved in one or two days, but the rest, really, nobody has been symptomatic. And I think for now, it is a good sign.”- 12/2/21

Let's just point out that this is how Omicron played out in a vaccinated patient! We do not yet know what it does in an unvaccinated one.

At least 70% of our South African population is unvaccinated . Clearly Omicron has not been selective and has infected the vaccinated and unvaccinated and our infection rate is soaring but deaths from Omicron is still nil , whether vaccinated or not.

It sounds like the symptoms of Omicron are fairly mild. If the payoff is acquired natural immunity, should people be trying to get this strain?
@wyqtor
@wyqtor 2 жыл бұрын
Too early to say. Delta and Alpha can be just as mild, depending on luck (genetics + initial viral inoculum) and personal health status. But they can mess you up really badly if you happen to have any vulnerabilities. Let's hope the number of severe cases is lower with this new variant.

Forgive me Dr John, but isn't the UK suffering from vaccine escape all ready with the D virus? And as so many of us has had the D virus twice, is that immune escape too? Or this only apply to new variants????

@@shaunpatrick8345 huh? I ain't believin propaganda mate. I know far more people who have gotten sick lately who did all the masks, hand sanitising, distancing nonsense, than people who didn't. We need exposure and socialising to make sure low viral loads get around and make it much easier to develop community immunity.

@@shenmeowzo if you accept viral loads contribute to immunity, why did you suggest there was no virus involved in his illness? Herd immunity is a bad strategy when we have vaccines and the disease kills 1% of people.

Why do people get tested when they are sick? Just stay home like any other cold or flu... Why risk giving it to others by going out and getting tested?

Getting the test result might be accepted as a passport going forward. Many countries recognized previously recovered as same as being vaccinated.

That’s due to Dr. John we are civil and whether we agree or not we are all in this together. Some can stay at home more than others. But this is the only channel that you see other alternatives from professional people in the medical field that actually treated it. Ty Dr. for the vitamins advise which USA 🇺🇸 offering no advice on that which might have helped a lot.
