On your wedding night, Ominis talks to you about what he held for himself so long: his family's mistreatment. You learned through all these years he liked sincerity, and revealed to him the truth.
Oh god...this was a special one. It's not as rich in sounds as others, but I wanted to write this even more than Sebastian's apology! I went as far as breaking the usual aesthetic to illustrate Noctua's locket.

Oh Ominis. He’s such the stark contrast to Sebastian. So deeply feeling and elegant with his words. He thinks over everything so carefully and he is really tender and open with his feelings when he finally gets the courage to let them out. He would definitely give his bride something meaningful like this. Oh I just love it.

Or perhaps you could switch it up and instead of doing before the wedding, you could do a video of MC and Sebastian the day after their wedding, sitting in a flying carriage peacefully sailing above the highlands on the journey to their honeymoon destination. And he reflects on how far you've come, all the things you've been through together (and how you believed in him), and how amid all the chaos he feels peaceful here with you as if everything is finally as it should be. ❤ Oh and I'm bringing Deek as my bridesmaid, nobody telling me no. Ominis is so sweet that it’s not even fair. His family doesn’t deserve him or his kindness. If the reason Ominis died was Tom Riddle I swear. Time to kill him a second time.

Oh no no, don't worry. It's very probable in canon that Ominis died way before. By the time Merope (Tom's mother) gave birth to him, they were the only living Gaunts...that means Ominis was already dead and did not have any offspring, or if he did, they must also have already died. #sadfact

​@Adatewith It's my HC that him and MC ran off and faked his death and did a name change, or his family disowned him and thereby didn't consider him a Gaunt anymore. Kinda like how Sirius's mother would burn certain Black's off the family tree.

@@Adatewith Honestly, judging by their character and backstory, I feel that both Sebastian and Ominis had pretty terrible tumultuous lives after their time at Hogwarts. Even if we don't turn in Sebastian, his hardheaded ways will probably land him in cahoots with criminals and/or in Azkaban at some point. And I think a tragic (albeit heroic) death would be fitting for Ominis as a character, as sad as it is, because it would close his character arc of struggling to find his own way and distance himself from his family whose expectations he disagrees with. One fan theory/head canon of mine is that Marvolo is Ominis's elder brother, and killed him out of greed for their inheritance. We don't learn that much about Marvolo from the Harry Potter books, but we know he's a bit off his rocker, doesn't care about others getting hurt, and most of all he prizes his heirlooms more than anything - there's two heirlooms, the Slytherin Locket and the Gaunt Ring/Resurrection Stone. What if the two heirlooms were originally one for each son, so Ominis got one of them, but Marvolo wanted all for himself... and he's not above murdering his brother to get it. This is the family that eventually bore Voldemort after all, who murdered his father and uncle and grandfather...it wouldn't be out of place for there to be a history of other filicides in the Gaunt family.

I wrote my first fanfic about my MC telling him she's not ashamed to take the Guant name, bcuz when she thinks Guant she thinks of Ominis only. And his devotion to Noctua and her beliefs. The Guant name THEY wanted to portray 🥺❤ This reminded me of it a little.

That's very thoughtful. I took some inspiration from how he says his name if you start as a Slytherin. He makes a pause before saying Gaunt, and of course, back then you couldn't just go by a nickname, you had to properly introduce yourself.

@@Adatewith I didn't really notice the pause. He says "I'm Ominis. Ominis Gaunt." and to me it sounded a bit like one of those introductions where someone tells you what they go by and then adds their full name ("I'm Bond. James Bond." comes to mind lol). And besides, that scene has become unintentionally funny to me ever since I watched that fandub video where he introduces himself like "I'm Ominis Gaunt and I can't see shit." 😂😂😂😂😂

I like your take on things. Seems a lot of other fans fancy him changing his surname altogether to distance himself from his abusive family (myself included - I'm writing a fanfic where he's with Anne Sallow and their descendants take the Sallow name), but I like your idea of Ominis coming to terms with his Gaunt family name, and recognising that it belongs to him as much as it belongs to any of his relatives, and accepting his self-made identity. It's a nice take on his character development. It's like the theme of facing what you don't like about yourself rather than erasing it.

I really like how its left open for us to imagine which fate we chose for Sebastian. Because when Ominis talked about him, I couldnt help myself imagening that we turned him in and both of us were talking about our good memories with Sebastian. Generally I really enjoyed how the conversation was written. It felt so natural and just cozy! I could just imagine the love between Ominis and the MC :3

Very heartwarming and well-done as usual. Nice music choice too. I can totally imagine Ominis giving one of Aunt Noctua's keepsakes to his future bride. Perhaps a few happy childhood memories with Noctua were the only reason Ominis was able to keep up that facade that he was fine with being a Gaunt, and hoping he would hear from her again after she went missing is why he stayed in touch with his family at large (not just for his father's connections to the headmaster LOL) even after he moved to live in Feldcroft with the Sallows. Either way I think his relationship with Noctua fostered the kindness in him and stopped him from turning bitter or vengeful even after his family used crucio on him. You just know, from having him as a friend, that he would be a kind and gentle partner to his future spouse.

I don't think so, from my perspective. If Ominis had to give one, it would be definitely something with emotional value rather than a heirloom. Sebastian mentioned once he had older siblings, probably they would have been wearing these relics that showed the wearer to be proud of belonging to the Gaunts. The idea was tempting, of course 🤭
