Here's why it gets harder: there are 5 judgment lines: Miss, Bad, Ok, Good, Sick. The difference between the 5 is that each is shorter than the other, and the Sick is between a gap of about 20 to -20 milliseconds from the judgment line. Only, as soon as you slow down, this line shrinks, and when you increase the speed, it grows (it gets bigger, eventually easier to hit), in other words... It's not so easy to play with a low speed, because you would have to have divine eyes for that, that could differentiate the distance in pixels (this is how small the line is). And, due to the nature of people who play downscroll, this is also impossible. First, they look towards the middle of the score track, not the actual judgment line, after all, who wants to get a sore neck? In short... This technique is terrible for downscrollers, but much better for upscrollers
