Omkar Dadarkar, the Indian Classical Vocalist, performs the Raga Chhayanat . Omkar is inspired by his parents and trained under the mentorship of renowned names like Manik Verma, Pt.Yashwantbua Joshi of Gwalior Gharana and Pt.Ulhas Kashalkar. His melodious voice is the reason that he has been honoured by the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar. Currently, he is imparting knowledge to the young artists at I.T.C. Sangeet Research Academy Kolkata. His amazing voice with beautified tanas has made him a vivid performer of Indian Classical Music. HCL Maestros in Studio is a unique platform by HCL Concerts in collaboration with The Peninsula Studios to empower talented artists of today to become the maestros of tomorrow. Omkar Dadarkar Biography
Shri Omkar Shrikant Dadarkar was born on 30 July 1977 at Mumbai. He inherited the art of Music as a family tradition and was initiated into the art by his parents, Shri Shrikant Dadarkar and Smt. Shubhada Dadarkar. Further, he received training under Shri Ram Deshpande, Smt. Manik Verma and from Shri Yashwanthbua Joshi of Gwalior Gharana under the Guru Shishya Parampara scheme of Dadar Matunga Cultural Centre. Selected as a scholar at I.T.C. Sangeet Research Academy in 1999, he also received advanced training under the tutelage of Shri Ulhas Kashalkar. He was trained in light classical music by legendary musician Smt. Girija Devi and Shri Shrinivas Khale. He completed Sangeet Alankar from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya.
Shri Omkar Shrikant Dadarkar has performed in several prestigious music festivals in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Kanpur, Lucknow and also got opportunity to present his art abroad.
He has been duly awarded for his talent with the Vidyasagar Award from music forum.
Shri Omkar Shrikant Dadarkar is awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar of Sangeet Natak Akademi for the year 2009 for his notable talent in the field of Hindustani Vocal Music.
