Are you ready to get stitching on your new favorite machine embroidery project? Kreative Kiwi has done it again with this machine embroidered in the hoop mandala coaster!
Supplies:
fabric
your favorite embroidery thread
batting
water soluble stabilizer (WSS)
or tear away stabilizer
duck-billed applique scissors
This is a step by step video tutorial that will show you exactly how to complete this embroidery project completely in the hoop! Beware, it is a super fun embroidery project and you will want to make more!!
In this video, I am using gorgeous variegated thread from Madeira that has some gorgeous blues, light greens and burgundy colors and makes this ITH coaster gorgeous!

Make sure that you check out the free machine embroidery designs at kreative kiwi - there are so many embroidery designs, and most of them are in the hoop!
The first step of this ITH machine embroidery design is to hoop your WSS (water-soluble stabilizer) and put it on your embroidery machine. I am using my Brother Dream Machine 2 for this embroidery project. the next step is to stitch out the placement line. Once this part is done you can add the batting and the fabric or, if you want to make this a double-sided ITH coaster, then you can add the back fabric right now - and the bobbin thread will show up making a nice design for the back too. Put your back fabric with the pretty side facing down. Then place the batting and the fabric on the top. I used thick batting that is great for coasters and 2 pieces of layer cake pre-cut fabric for the top and the bottom. Once the embroidery design has finished all of the detail work, then it is time to trim the front and back before the finishing satin stitches. For this step, I am using my awesome duck billed applique scissors for applique trimming. Once you have trimmed the front and the back, put the hoop back on your embroidery machine and stitch the final steps - a tack down stitch and a nice satin stitch to make everything look fantastic (especially with Madeira thread) and finish the embroidery design completely in the hoop.
