Thank you so much Sue for the new beginning digitizer classes. I have used an embroidery machine for years stitching out other peoples patterns. My husband bought me Hatch 2, and although I am eager to start digitizing my own creations...it is not easy to learn on my own. I am so looking forward to following your classes on this.

Missed the live again, I keep getting the timing wrong - must be lockdown! I am so very glad that you are starting from the very beginning of how one starts to understand connections and jump stitches. It has taken me a long time to understand the circle and the triangle and what they mean, but nobody has really taken the time to explain their relationship to one another, until now, and how to solve the problem of getting rid of jump stitches. Dear old Frank the Bug taught me so much, but I still need to be lead by someone like you Sue, to show me the way and explain the methods, reasons and solutions to getting rid of jump stitches. I have nearly given up so many times, but watching and listening to you has always without fail, rekindled the flame. Thank you for such an informative and enlightening video. Cannot wait for the next lesson.

I think hatch has a thing called branching. you select the ones you want to connect and it will connect them if it is under other embroidery.

true, but it only works in certain ways - if you don't have your objects in order, you could have many repeat connections.

I wasn't reminded you were live until after! How do I, or can I, get the equivalent of 'open shape' on PE Design 10? I find drawing a line difficult as, when I have drawn it, I don't know how to finish it. What happens is that when I move the curser another line appears. I'm not sure if that makes sense! I wasn't interested in digitising until my son bought the PE Design for me! I love the Sue-isms! Keep them coming! They make so much sense. I like to watch how a design stitches out before I actually stitch it especially with bought designs so I know what is going on and I was wondering how the connections were made so, thanks so much and I can't wait for the next 'episode'!

@@susanwehe8270 Thanks so much for your reply. I have watched all Sue's videos on PE Design but I will have to go through it again. I must have been doing something wrong! I've just made a simple design for a tiny drawstring bag. It needs a lot of tweaking but I am so pleased with the bag I have made. Not perfect but serviceable. :-)

@@susanwehe8270 You are absolutely right. We learn from our mistakes and I am always open to learning more and, as you say, learning what my weaknesses are. We are all probably too hard on ourselves though. I know I certainly can be. BTW I found Sue's video on the connections and it now makes much more sense. All I had to do was press enter. I can never get the double click quick enough to work which was why I was having the problem.
