The popular spaghetti dish in the west is Spaghetti Bolognese which is ground meat in a tomato sauce (no ketchup). Kids like it plain, but adults prefer it with chunks of tomato and sometimes other vegetables and herbs. Neapolitan means it comes from Naples, Bolognese means that it comes from the province of Bologna (pronounced “bolonia”) in Italy. We are more familiar with Neapolitan ice cream and Neapolitan pizza.
@RionIshida4 жыл бұрын

Rion, is the ketchup in Japan similar to that in the US or is there a difference in the flavor and ingredients? Like Kewpie mayonnaise is similar to US mayo, but has a subtle difference. There are so many Japanese dishes where ketchup is used. I would imagine it was something introduced by the Americans after the war and was thought to be exotic. Love the work you do!
