Hey Gem! Love your channel man, you’re a big reason I got into collecting omnibus books! Question for the Geminites family, how do you store your books? Just read some threads on Reddit saying storing the books vertically can mess up the spine because they’re so heavy. We spend so much on these books and was wondering if you guys have experienced this first hand on your older books? Any tips on how to prevent it if that is the case? Thanks all!

That Adventure Into Fear Omni has hardly any material new to the omnibus format. 1/3 of it is in the Man-Thing Omni, 1/3 is in the Morbius Omni, and the first 1/3 is largely covered in the Monsterbus/Masters of Suspense Omnis. Yet despite all of that, they slap a $150 cover price on it.

Star Wars Legends includes the Dark Horse comics as well as all the novels that were published before Disney bought Star Wars. None of that stuff is canon anymore but some of it is still worth reading and a lot of the Legends stuff can be considered its own canon. Also, the material in that X-Men epic collection is in the first Omnibus.

George Perez' Wonder Woman run is the one time I found the character engaging in comic format. You can really tell how much of a master he was: none of the tie-ins have artwork nearly as good as his.

Oblivion Song sounds good. Got the X-men epic already on pre-order so can't wait for that (loved those comics when they first came out). Not sure about the Adventure into Fear as it overlaps a lot with Man Thing and Morbius collections and also Suspense etc. The Wonder Woman book also sounds good but perhaps I should just get the Perez Wonder Woman 1-3 omnis. Too many to ponder !

I think it's nice how in Revenge of the Cosmic Ghost Rider the gallery of variants covers with the virgin art on a page all of it's own. I also like on certain TPBs each chapter or issue to be divided by the virgin art of the regular covers.

There's a Wonder Woman: War of the Gods trade that just collects War of the Gods #1-4 and the Wonder Woman tie-in issues but not the rest of the crossover issues (Flash, Superman, etc.). I bought it not knowing that DC would later release an omnibus version, but I already have the main story so the omnibus just feels like overkill (for me) at this point. Also, Cain is the owner of the House of Mystery. His brother Abel owns the House of Secrets.

I didn't think Nick Spencer's latest stuff on spider-man was that bad. The whole boomerang thing killed the run for me last time and I hate they are still referencing that 20 something issues later. I've still to check out a lot of the bronze age stories. Think I'll check out the wonder woman stuff. Also the marvel outside your window book looks epic. Great video

There's something odd about those older issues on glossy and white paper, I don't think those colors were mean't to be that vibrant. They were printed on like greyish paper before.

Also, you’re correct that Star Wars “Legends” (used to be Expanded Universe under Lucasfilm) is the brand used for non-cannon “Pre Disney” universe media. Literally everything besides the first 6 movies and the clone wars movie/tv show was deemed non-cannon by the big D when the acquired Lucasfilm (some ancillary stuff like toys and video games were also included but I’m not sure exactly what). Holding the thinner ones in my hands for an extended period, like while reading the Killing Joke deluxe edition, made my fingers turn all black :( Also seems less sturdy, the spine of my Bronze Age House of Secrets vol 1 got cracked, although I did break it in properly. I no longer buy these black embossed hardcovers. Really loved House of the Mystery and Secrets series, I'm happy with the Showcase volumes, they look good in black and white, whish they would've continued those.

When a Star Wars something is labeled "Legends," it means it's no longer a part of the Disney-era canon. So anything that was released before their purchase of LucasFilm. Not an "um, actually," just trying to educate!

Ti;re right about people not liking that the expanded universe was decanonised, but it has nothing to do with Marvel. What people don't like is that Disney decanonised it and haven't given us anything that's even close in terms of quality and consistency. Marvel, Dark Horse I don't care, as long as it's good! Sadly Disney is pushing identity politics instead of good stories. It doesn't help that they keep taking from the expanded universe and bastardising it for the new stuff.
