So far I am quite dissapointed. Let me start with saying it's great to see that AT/Pioneer DJ are trying to move forward to streaming, wireless, party/bluetooth song request kind of modes for those house parties or jam sessions on the go. But there are a lot of major oversights for me, and things that Denon/Numark already do better at a better price point. Moving away from physical buttons and having to take more steps to get where you are on the machine whilst in the mix is something I have experienced on a variety of Denon gear, up to the SC6000 even which is brilliant. Pioneer or AT (this will age like X/twitter...) always has had its strong suit on having the same physical button layout, everything from memory cue and loop to hot cue / play cue buttons and mixer controls are all the same on the whole scala of their products, this was a major strong point. Any DJ with experience on pioneer gear is able to play a set with 0 set up time regardless of what the venue is set up with, this seems to fade away with this product and assumably more so in the future. I strongly wonder about responsiveness of the buttons and the interface, the waveforms seem cramped and tiny on the screen as they're surrounded by the on screen buttons. The bluetooth song record and manipulation is a cool idea, but I wonder how much use it will get and how it will sound on some pa speakers. Personally I am missing the following buttons: Slip/Quantize, Master Tempo, second bank of cue button levels for beat loop and effects, Color FX selector, the brilliant FX section, headphones cue buttons, track search, physical browse and playlist buttons. No jog wheel lights is a shame but I can understand with battery power and size, but it is an iconic touch that is gone on this unit. Then one gripe I really cannot get over with, even for house parties and on the go: Where is the second usb A slot? It probably won't also work with a tiny usb hub or will it? How do you swap dj's now that are not on SD cards. And there is no major streaming service integration so you can't really hop on to one of those, play a track and swap usb. I guess as a hardcore Pioneer fanboy it is time to invest in the last holy grail setup and watch that age like fine Technics wine. Any thoughts of others or Crossfade themselves?

Couldn´t agree more. Huge blunder from AlphaTheta in my opinion to deviate from the established layout. Luckily we got the FLX-4/FLX-10 controllers before they made the shift. They will be around for quite some time.

The "strange" Bluetooth functionality seems quite obvious to me: You can stream from Spotify with Bluetooth, and there's no other legal way to stream from this service, as they don't allow it. Spotify forbids any DJ software from streaming their songs. Other services could remove their access at any point, and it would not surprise me if Tidal for example removes streaming to DJ software in the future. There's no way any of these services can remove Bluetooth access, so this feature is future-proof.

It's the DJ controller equivalent of when Apple started removing ports from their computers and phones and said "but don't worry, you can use an adapter that you have to pay extra for to replicate the same functionality of the older models". It's an absolute joke. The FLX-4 has better functionality and is 82% cheaper (based on Australian prices) all so that you get a controller that looks like a kids toy, with an average battery life, and a Bluetooth gimmick that you'll never use... No club DJ or mobile professional in their right mind would want all that wasted button real estate on the controller in exchange for having to click on a little overcrowded touchscreen for every single other function and I'm not even sure if you can even replicate all the standard PioneerDJ features anyway! You must clearly work for Alpha-Theta if you think this is a *great* product that will actually help the industry! 😂

If you're going to put out a piece of gear that emulates what the competition is doing...have been doing, if you're not going to do it better or as good then don't do it at all. Never mind the Prime GO, this doesn't even stack up against the battery powered Numark standalone.

Not feeling the look but it has full sized jogs unlike the Prime Go and the 4 extra hot cue buttons over the Mixstream Pro....but that price though yesh. Based on this - the OPUS Quad look appears to be the future of "Pioneer DJ" or whatever it is now. I'll be holding onto my DDJ 1000SRT extra tight now. Side note after Jaime demonstrated the wireless speaker with the interface for low latency, I think the first portable unit to come with a low latency bluetooth option built in will dominate that market.

Is serato dj pro gonna be standalone? I only want this to run without a laptop
@anboojz8 ай бұрын
can’t judge that from a distance really, but it just doesn’t look like professional dj gear. It looks like a ddj-flx4 with built in monitor, for the price of pro dj equipment.

@2:15 "Yes, this is basically a Denon DJ GoPro, but the EQ knobs are actually vertical, designed for human beings" I was really hoping that Denon would fix that glaring issue, but looks like Pioneer beat them to it anyway.

The Mixstream Pro Go and Denon Prime (if it had bigger jog wheels) seem like better options.

Mixstream pro go has good size jogs

Is the tempo fader the same size as the flx4 ?
@DiscJokeyDarkSigns10 ай бұрын
1. It lacks the typical loop buttons. 2. The trim button is not at the top, but rather sitting awkwardly on the sides, same applies to the filters. 3. The pitch fader is laughable at this price point. 4. There are no Hot Cue/Pad FX/Beat Jump/Sampler buttons on top of the pads. 5. The cue/play buttons are miniature and made of plastic, they also share the same white LEDs (have fun distinguishing between those 2 in a club setting) Both Pioneer & Alpha Theta have lost the plot.

Hey it might sound stupid but i really wanna know do I still have to go through rekordbox in my laptop to export tracks or i can prepare it on the unit
@philllipattidore25228 ай бұрын
They said steaming will be available in the unit but the price this unit is over the top

If this was ~$500, i was going to consider it. But anything beyond that, no. Am i too cheap? I dont known😂

Nope, you know the value of money vs. options

It's interesting, but I would've preferred a DDJ-FLX 4 (and 8) with the onboarding screen and no battery and no Bluetooth features really. I'm not impressed compared to Denon Prime Go, but it's still a good step forward.

No doubt. A couple hundred more for an FLX10 and it’s a Beast!

I think AT/pionnerdj are having troubles in knowing what djs actually want . The console which came before till DJM A9, they all looked like a dj console, complicated machines but fun when you know how to use it . Nowadays they are realising stuff which looks like a showpiece. I personally would feel bored after sometime to play with these players . Hopefully AT realises it and comes back making products that are actually dj products. Not some toy to play with.

You missed the audition for the Mandarin in Iron Man 3, it went to Sir Ben Kingsley, and that was years ago.

How do you put a master channel on the Omnis Duo, for example if one channel, the right one, is at 100 bpm, how do you put the left channel as master since I don't see a button for it?
@morzie407510 ай бұрын
just before i carry on with the video, the bluetooth idea is smart but is the latency near 100% accurate because it was either the ddj 200 or 400 or both had bluetooth for we dj and the latency between using the mixer and sound output was annoying.
@aswinwu10 ай бұрын
So, you can play and mixing with spotify again to your deck with a bluetooth?

Spent the past 2 days at NAMM playing with this thing, and I will say it is worth every penny of $1500! Call it the Apple tax or whatever, but it’s basically an iPad with decks and a mixer. This thing outside the color is sweet!!

AlphaTheta will now have two brand the "O" series omis duo and opus quad and the original pioneer dj brand, just like INMusic have three brands numark, denon and rane.

My first question would be: is this alphatheta's first linux system? Or is this still a specialized OS?
