What gets me about 01:09:56, the start of OMORI, is that when in the game it had something of a fade-in, here it STABS right into your ears. In-game it was relatively gentle, still miserable, but almost welcoming and nurturing, initial anguish creeping into growing hatred. In this live performance, it wastes no time grabbing you by the hair, yanking you down, and _shrieking_ at you in anger and hurt. With even more intense sounds of something falling down a set of stairs, echoing cries, and a CRUSHING sense of true despair. It's less of a deafening muffle to all semblance of hope, and more of a guttural scream that tunes out everything else. Real pain right there. And then Mari starts playing. It's so gentle and soft. It's like she's holding her baby Brother close, wiping away his tears, and reassuring him that everything's going to be okay. I'm getting a bit misty-eyed listening to it even now. What a game.
