Omori is one of the best games I have ever played. I took a gamble on it without knowing much about it, and I was blown away by everything I experienced. I tried my gosh darn bestest here to try and explain in some way just why I felt that way. Hope you enjoy you cutie patootie :)

One of the first things I encourage any player who finishes OMORI to do, is immediately load up the OST, and listen to the first Title Theme. This is after you've heard the other version "Do you remember?" ... put headphones on, listen close and you'll hear the soft wind noises in the background, it sounds like the piece is being played in a vast empty nothingness, kinda like White Space (which is what is depicted on the first title screen). It's only *part* of the track, and some of the notes are hesitant, and then it hits you... Sunny can barely remember the music until he reconnects with his friends and Hero talks about "the song you used to play with Mari" and WHAM, "Do you remember?" starts playing for the first time, which is a more cleaner sounding version that's more complete. And eventually, Sunny plays that very same theme, but on Violin and its name in the soundtrack is "Remembrance" as Sunny suddenly remembers his part in the Duet. And then after the Omori battle, he decides to close the book on that chapter of his life to send Omori packing for good... it's just so good.

@@SnugboyThe moment in the game when you see maris eye transform into something.. “oh you just shouldn’t have looked”. Begs the question of what if she wasn’t dead when she fell… just heavily concussed. What if she actually died due to them hanging her, and she woke at the last second. Makes it hurt even more but it does make sense
@Fini_Libitina
@Fini_Libitina Жыл бұрын
@@SirApple It is tragic but I don't think she was dead after falling down the stairs. It is possible that if she broke her neck across the violin she may have died, but falling down the stairs alone probably would not have killed her. She most likely passed out or became paralyzed. If she was rushed to a hospital she could have survived which makes this story even sadder. As you said, she could have woken up in the process of being hanged after all in the files of the game all of the pictures from the truth sequence have descriptions and they may not be 100% valid because they are not in the game. But the code does point out the fact that it looks like she's sleeping meaning... her eyes are shut. So when her one eye (or two) was open when she was hanging there is kinda strange. Idk though ¯\_(ソ)_/¯

@@Fini_Libitina I tend to disagree with that. Rigor Mortis is known to cause a corpse's eyes to pop open, and it is common enough, that funeral homes will oftentimes sew eyes shut for this reason, as it would be incredibly creepy during a funeral if the deceased was laying there in the casket with their eyes wide open and dried out. OMOCAT gave you many clues that Mari died on impact; "This person is not breathing" several times for instance. The fact Sunny and Basil remained in the bedroom with her for enough time to grieve and cry for at least several minutes, the pic of Sunny trying to shake her awake, etc. If she was still alive, I'm sure the boys would have heard breathing, felt a pulse, etc. But, Sunny knew she was dead. That's why he slumped down against the bed in tears after trying to shake her awake.

I wish this game never ended...it is so oddly relatable. The things we feel guilt about, the wrongs we've done and how it effects our relationships and the mental wellbeing of others. It's representation of depression and anxiety is just spot on and it's presentation of a childhood friendship is so endearing that at least for me it's impossible not to yearn for that innocent companionship between friends who love each other. Honestly...I wish I had that sort of friendship, it kind of ruins my perception of the empty friendships I used to have

this video could not have had better timing because i just recently finished this game myself! everything you mentioned was so well said and perfectly explained how i was feeling while playing this game. as someone who has really been struggling with mental health, seeing how all of the characters are affected by mari’s death (which is also my actual name) helped keep me going irl for the sake of being able to live and see beautiful days again. i too was crying my eyes out basically the entire last section of the game and something about the music that plays while fighting omori hit my soul in a way i don’t even know how to explain. truly a beautiful game on so many levels. thank you so much for this wonderful video and happy holidays!

Woah I can’t even imagine how the story would’ve hit while sharing the name of one of the characters. That’s insane. It’s not as cool, but for a big part of the game I really related to Sunny/Omori because I too have a older sister and I used to play the Violin. But luckily my sister is still alive and when I finished I called her and told her how much I loved her. I am really glad the game gave you the strength to keep going. Your presence on this planet is such a blessing and we’re all so glad you’re still here. You’re amazing ❤️

I'm glad i didn't though, because this is something I cannot play. I want to learn about it and look deeper into the game and messages itself, but I could get seriously hurt playing it-- my mental health hasn't been very good lately, and it would only be made worse by playing it. It seems like a beautiful game that many people would play and enjoy but I don't think I could do it.

I have not had this game leave my head since the first day I said it. Omori is such a special game to me. It destroyed me. The OST is a treat and the artstyle stands out so much more than everything else I’ve seen. It’s like… I want to have so many other games to play that holds the same emphasise on friendships that Omori has. I’ve tried Earthbound. I’ve played Night in the Woods and Undertale, and Deltarune comes close to tugging on my heart the same way. That’s all to say, Omori is sad, it’s funny, it’s brought me so close to crying in a way that no other game has achieved. I want games like this because I don’t have to ability to take away my memories of this game to play it over and over again.

I dont know how they did it? I'm speechless by this game really. I didnt take the time to experience the entire game unfortunately because I got bored by the never ending dialogue and repetitive situations that I just thought werent worth my time so I watched a video explaining the events and such and just that alone made me sad the entire day constantly obsessing over omori and constantly replaying the final duet because knowing the story to an already beautiful peace makes you (me) want to cry so hard because of how it was pieced together so perfectly and thats why I think omori is an obsolute masterpiece. Most games dont make me cry, and when they due its usually just a singular tear or a moment where I was already feeling sad but I think this kind of story and game can haunt anyone with constant crying, depression, happiness, and just puts them through the multiple stages of grief and sadness to where they just ponder over the game for the rest of the day, week, or even month. I think I will have one of those moments where I wake up on a summer morning and have some random nostalgia that hits me like a cinder block for no reason, and it almost will certainly be over omori, because the story is beautiful.

The actual emotion I felt through the game was awesome. From being so ecstatic and not even knowing what the game means to becoming a little scared and suspenseful to actually sobbing at the end. The game felt so relatable, that one thing you can’t get out of your head, the bad thing. This game actually teaches you something (unlike school) it teaches to let go of things that are bad, look up to your future, don’t be sad when you regret something, well maybe do but don’t keep stuff to yourself forever, talk to someone and then forget and move on.

What a good endorsement for a wonderful gaming experience! Thank you for recommending this game to people, it deserves so many more players. Also, Snugboy, if you love Omori (and generally judging by the kinds of games and themes that you talk about in your videos), I REALLY recommend you play Mother 3 if you haven't already. It's the sequel to Earthbound and a definite inspiration for a lot of Omori's world and themes with similar topics of grief and trauma and I guarantee it will break your heart as well. It (plus a friend of mine) actually helped get me into Omori lol. It's really something else and I think you would particularly appreciate it. Just a recommendation. Thanks again for another great video analysis! ❤️

@chooseyourcharacter2698
@chooseyourcharacter2698 Жыл бұрын
@@Snugboy Oh wow I wasn't expecting a response lol. I'm so glad you're interested in playing them! I typically recommend Earthbound first and then Mother 3 since that's the order I played it in and I think it makes for a richer experience, but it's not super necessary to play them in a particular order since each game is its own individual story (and as fun and charming as Earthbound is, it does kind of show its age and can be a bit hard to get into for a lot of new people at first and it doesn't capture your attention quite as quickly as Mother 3 does imo). Still, they're both really special and if you have the time and motivation, I'd for sure recommend that order. Otherwise you're not losing _too_ much by playing Mother 3 first aside from some good subtext and backstory, particularly for one of the characters. And if you want there's also the first Mother, but if you're doing that I definitely wouldn't recommend playing it until after 2 and 3. It's a beautiful story but you need a LOT of patience (unless you have a walkthrough and a good ROM hack that tones down the crazy number of random encounters 😅)
